I first started watching Shalit's streams back in the spring, as he covered the riots tearing through our cities. He provided much-needed reassurance that I wasn't alone in feeling the way I did about the state of the world, and helped me to channel my emotions into my faith in the Lord. Throughout a lockdown designed to make us all feel atomized and alone, Shalit was able to instill a sense of brotherhood and solidarity among his viewers.

The world is a lesser place in his absence, but I'm confident he's doing better now than any of us could imagine. I hope to meet him someday. Thank you to his family for sharing him with the world.

Shalit was one of my best friends and one of the best people I've ever known. He was constantly making everyone laugh, making little bits and jokes. He just enjoyed everyday and made everybody he talked to relax and enjoy theirs aswell. He rarely got caught up with pointless little things and was just such an all around happy guy. Theres nobody like Shalit and it is truly a such a loss for anyone who knew him. I will always miss my friend. I know he is laughing at us stressing over all this, and I keep imagining what he would say about all of it. I'm sure he is cracking jokes in heaven about all of this and I can't wait to see him again someday. We will never forget him. Rest in Peace Shalit.

I spent a better part of the last year with Shalit in the morning watching episodes of JLP, schmooding about programming and computers, and enjoying his takes that he had on a wide range of issues from the comedic to the serious. His faith and constant messages to me about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, helped me turn back to God and it is for this reason that my life is not full of despair, but of hope! I know that we are all sad about Shalit's passing but in my heart of hearts I know that we will see our brother again in Heaven in a state of pure joy and bliss. Until that day comes, I will always keep a part of you with me in my heart and try to live a life that I know you would have respected. Love you big guy. -Aubo

I started watching shalit earlier this year. I was initially taken back by how unusually kind he was, he would respond to all my messages, add me on games, and just make me feel welcome. He was especially impactful to me because I grew apart from all my friends when they joined the military and really had no one to turn to. Shalit was really my friend and he could always make me smile. I remember all the riot streams he did and calling into his show to talk about the news. It makes me so sad to hear that he is no longer going to be there watching JLP or falling asleep midstream. I won't hear his shenanigans with Jimbo and Pizza. It couldn't have happened to a more deserving person. Shalit was the greatest and I really felt as though I lost one of my best friends. I promise I won't forget shalit and how kind he was. RIP Shalit I know you will be in heaven.
