Serafin's obituary

Serafin Arcangel Graciani was born 1968, in New York, NY, to the late Dalila Rodriguez and Enrique Graciani. Serafin, retired Sergeant First Class, served over 20 years as an active-duty infantryman before continuing his career as a mentor, trainer, and philanthropist with the U.S. Army overseas. He was proud of his family, heritage, service and country. He dedicated much of his life to service—both in uniform and beyond.

He is survived by:

-His four daughters-Angela, Allena, Alexia, Serena.

-His past wives, who continue to live on—blessings to Rena and Joleen.

-His grandchildren, names redacted for privacy.

-His Godmother, Fay Morales.

-His siblings, Peggy Ortega, John Graciani, and Joe Graciani

-His nephews, Bruno Soto and Joel Torres (Nicole)

-His great-nieces, Lia and Londyn Torres

-His great-nephews, Liam and Logan Torres

-And countless other family members, friends, and brothers/sisters in arms.

If there’s one thing to say about Serafin, it’s that he had a sharp wit, a talent for sarcasm, a love for dark humor, and a stubborn streak that ran deep—traits that, let’s be honest, all of those in his surviving party have inherited. He gave his passion and dedication to everything he set his heart to. He loved cars, guns, traveling the world, learning new languages and cultures, photography, trying new foods…and, yes, he even had a motorcycle phase. He always chased self-improvement, success, and his relationship with God, never content to stand still for too long.

But above all else, his greatest accomplishment was his family. Whether in person, by mail, or by phone, he cherished time with his loved ones. In his own way, making sure that they always felt and knew that.

Serafin will be remembered for his fun-loving, humorous, and generous nature by those who knew him well.
