Scott was part of our NYAC Lacrosse Band of Brothers that came together under the leadership of Coaches Burt and Dean in the 90's. We all played and did life together. Very special group that have become lifelong friends. Scott was the glue with his leadership, athleticism and sense of humor. Also renowned for his Whitey Hendrickson ("fellas... it's about the club") and Sammy Davis, Jr  imitations.  I initially played against Scott during 80s when he was part of the Chicago Lacrosse Club and I was on the Michigan Lacrosse Club team. Many a nights at the River Shannon after games. Great memories of taking he and Maureen to the airport for their honeymoon and helping the moves in and out to their NJ home . Blessed to have gotten know the whole McLam clan during NYAC post season parties. Friendship and love endured steadfast over the years in spite of the distance. His physical presence will be sorely missed but his enormous spirit will live in hearts forever!
Just a few memories here from the Chicago years… the overriding theme being it looks like we were having the time of our lives -which we were. And Scott was always in the middle of the fun - singing his best imitation of Jerry Vale to All along the Watchtower, Midnight Rider or Wake Up Little Susie … or channeling Scottie from Star Trek or whatever else spontaneously inspired him. He kept us all laughing. The world already feels different without him in it.

My condolences to Scott's family. I first met Scott when we played lacrosse together for Chicago Lacrosse Club.  There were a bunch of us who hung out together often at a local tavern, Harry and the Bear.  Many a night we closed the place (and then some) and there were always a lot of laughs.  A lot of the guys on the team were from back east.  We would get together for holidays particularly Thanksgiving.  My girl friend Karen (now my wife) and I would host.  Usually about 10 people attended  most wise ass Long Islander's.  I guess that's redundant!  Everyone had to bring a dish for the table.  Scott volunteered to bring the salad.  He arrived with a Waldorf Salad.  I'm pretty sure Waldorf Salad's went out with the sixties.  When Karen saw it of course she commented on it.  After all she is a wise ass from New Jersey.  Again redundant.  Well Scott defended his choice as we knew he would.  And of course from then on we all knew Scott was going to bring the Waldorf Salad.  So Scott!  Karen and I well miss him.  Especially his thousand watt smile.

When you were with Scott you always knew you were in for fun. Whether it was at a game or The River Shannon afterwards. Everyone knows that toothy smile that was as big as he was, and a laugh he let go so often. I will remember our times in Chicago the Vineyard that bring back great memories. God bless all his family and all those saddened by this tragic loss. The world lost one of the real good ones!!!
first off to coach mclam… thank you for everything you taught me on and off the field. It was an honor to have you coaching along side me and cheering for me and Claire in the stands. My father is heartbroken over losing you and you will never ever be forgotten. The keough family and all of Ridgefield love you.
