Background
In lieu of flowers or gifts please make a donation in Scotts name to the Lantern Recovery center. This cause is meaningful to his legacy because Scott struggled with alcoholism for many years. Providing affordable care for all is so important in the recovery process and maintaining the support to continue on the path of sobriety.
Here is the mission statement from The Lantern:
We are a fully self-supporting 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The ability to pay is not a consideration for care. The Lantern relies on donations and community support to assure no one will be turned away due to financial issues. Everyone treated is dealt with upon an individual basis. Although every resident shares the same disease when it comes to addiction, we realize that every individual has their particular focus area that needs to be addressed. Residents are treated with the utmost compassion and care rather than being regarded as just another number or statistic.
