It’s been 10 days and I miss being able to talk to my Mom. Even if she didn’t know me or understand what we were talking about.

A creamy toast to Sara Jane, we all admired her creativity. — with jenny Koski

I greatly admired Sara's colorful and instructive family sayings and began to collect them. Here are a few:

It will never be seen on a galloping horse.

It made my socks roll up and down.

It is silent like the P in swimming

You can use a boarding house reach as long as you keep one foot on the chair. However, if there is company, you have to keep one foot on the floor.

You are young. You should be able to shiver hard enough to stay warm.

A Bald headed row --is the front row, named for the strip joint front row full of bald headed men.

There are a few not suitable for here but made us laugh.,

She also taught us to swear in Dutch.

Late summer  2015 in celebration of my retirement  I picked Aunt Sara up from the Boise Airport and headed east on what is one of my many treasured  times spent with my Aunt.  Traveling though eleven states, two Countries, driving over 5000 miles we talked about everything, explored, photographed, laughed, read, as we planned our route along the way.  Our destination/turn around  being Sault Ste. Marie, On Canada, we  selected sites along the way. Yellowstone, Cody Wy, Meeteese Wy the first three days, dinner of microwave popcorn with a bottle of Four Hands, we are each leafing though motel travel guides Sara sees  Devils Tower on the back of mine, adjust course, north to Devils Tower,  across the Missouri - Pierre  ... Sacajawea Monument...60mph tailwind through North Dakota,.... my first sight of the great lakes! Conversations, site seeing, ICE CREAM, there may have been rocks collected along the way. Sharing this time with Sara Jane, what a blessing.  Around Lake Superior, Bemidji MN to see Blue the Ox and Paul Bunyan,  south to Pipestone National Monument, catch Iowa, before heading west.  Custer State Park, Mt Rushmore. Jackson Hole, Gooding before back to Boise for the plane.

Sara has always been an inspiration to me. Being so creative, intelligent,  sharing, articulate, independent, progressive, witty and kind.  I reflect on the trips we were able to do over the years and each of those are great memories.  She has been a tremendous influence in my life. I feel I can speak for many of her nieces, nephews and cousins, she was a treasure that will always be remembered.

Sara was such a great person, and we know how much she loved and was loved by her family. We are fortunate to have met met and celebrated with her at Dana and Brian’s wedding, and continue to feel her loving presence through social media over the years.

Our lives are the better for having known her. We will never forget her.

Sending love to all who knew and loved Sara, especially her family. May her memory be a blessing.
