Sara & Alex - mixed blood creates amazing human beings!!! 🤍
You crazy, amazing, loving, funny and inspiring human being, you were always one of my favourite family members. Oh how we laughed and cried together. What will I do without you on this planet? We had too little time with each other...
My heart is broken and I have no words to describe this unimaginable loss. It has taken me a few days to write something on this beautiful site your friends created for you...Still, I feel no words could ever be enough... So I’ll say this my Darling Sara: You loved me and I loved you and that is beautiful and it is all anyone needs.

So bummed to hear about Sara. I met Sara when she was raising capital for HiFi Farms. We instantly connected over our concerns about social equity and justice in the cannabis industry. From time to time we would re-connect at conferences or over email. Such a gifted and honorable person. She will be missed.

Her presence, I just knew she is one of God’s Angels✨✨✨✨❤️
In response to "What made Sara different from most people you know?"
I only met her twice, but that was enough to realize she was a rare breed. She saw things from a unique perspective... one which was hidden from most. Sara was one of those people who paid attention to everything that was going on around her and then she would surprise you with an uncoated raw piercing comment that would take you completely by surprise because, one, you had no idea she was following what was going on and two, the question or comment was so intelligent. In short, she had a sort of super computer for a brain and she was 100% unapologetic if you happened to not like what it was she had to say about a particular topic. Luckily all that intelligence and candor was coupled with a great sense of humor and a great deal of confidence and a long list of qualities only the best of humans have: compassion, integrity, generosity, ingenuity and loyalty, to name a few. Just about everyone has at least one of the qualities she had, but it’s a rare individual that has them all in one package like she did. They say you can tell a lot about someone by who they love. I think the reverse is true also: you can tell a lot about a person by who loves them. Jon, my brother in law, loved her. I have a tremendous amount of affection and respect for Jon and I think the fact that he loved her so deeply speaks volumes about the very high caliber person she was. I was idly wondering to myself if the condition that took her also contributed to her overflowing quantities of everything that defined her: her boundless zest for life, huge reserves of energy, piercing intellect, endless patience, etc. Had she been given the choice of living a long ordinary life or the one she actually lived she would not have thought twice about it. “Bring me the fun, adventure, challenges, love, and the ability to enjoy it all to the fullest and damn the consequences” I’m pretty sure is what she would have said.

Sara was infectious. The way she thought and expressed was so unique. She was also hilarious. A perfect blend of irony, sarcasm, self-deprecation all perfectly timed of course. One of her stories / genius product ideas she ranted on and on about at one of the many functions we attended alongside one another was her wish to create a mash up brand between Spanx and a Thunder Shirt. She told me... "Michelle! I'm wearing Spanx right now. I wear Spanx all the time now. Why did no one tell me about these sooner? They've got the marketing all wrong...they need to be marketing to women like me. You know the ones that have to be out in the world but often times feel completely overwhelmed and just need a hidden Thunder Shirt like a dog... to feel safe. That's the new Spanx!" I am really going to miss these talks with her. XO

A beautiful soul that lived life to the fullest. I worked for her at HiFi and she truly wanted the best for the entire staff. My heart goes out to Jon, the kids, her beloved dogs, and her entire community.

Taking a well earned rest from raging feminism and socialism
Sara has had a major positive influence on my life and career. She has been a great mentor and friend to me and to us and has supported Tokeativity and equity in cannabis since day one. She mentored us, our friends and our community on how to be a woman and fundraise, supported us on our Tokeativity Connect member site launch, and was our very first Tokeativity Business Member. We’ve had many long discussions about what we can do to support women's success in cannabis, small business and beyond and she always helped me see the light in the patriarchal darkness.

I was overjoyed to see her for the Women of Weed Film Red Carpet rehearsal on Friday and was ready to do our interview just 3 days later. It was very sad and strange to do an in memoriam in her absence.

An inspiration and a true shero in the cannabis, fundraising and femimist space has been lost. I hope more women in fundraising can step up to the plate to help her intentions and legacy live on. I am going to miss her very, very much. 😢
I was lucky to sit across from Sara at a dinner Hannah held. I remember her pure vitality, light and presence . A bright light. She had a level of passion that is not often seen or felt. Her energy really stayed with and inspired me. May she and her family be at peace.
I'm shocked and deeply saddened.

Sara was whip-smart, a connector, and passionate about equity. She was raw, unfiltered, and had admirable intellectual curiosity.

She deeply loved Jon, Dylan, and Rowan. She adored - and was adored - by many.

Such a loss for so many.
That is the most wonderful tribute I have ever read . My condolences to all who knew Sara. I can only imagine what you are all going through to lose such an amazing person . But what memories you must have to treasure and remind you of what life is all about . I will never understand why the really good people are taken. My only thought is that they are needed elsewhere.
