My condolences to Sandy's family. I was shocked and saddened to learn of her passing. I first met Sandy when our kids were in the high school band and we would often dis fundraisers, fixed and maintained band uniforms, and helped students bring their instruments out on the football field during marching band season. Her cheerful smile, positive attitude and kind heart are what I remember most. May loving memories give comfort to Sandy’s family during this difficult time.

So sorry to hear of her passing, I knew her when she was a little girl, then later in life when she worked at WMC in Weirton, WV. She was the younger sister of my dear friend Debbie and I know she will miss her deeply, When I think of Sandy her beautiful smile is what I always remember. She was so sweet. 🙏🙏

From our first day of 1st grade, where you pierced my ear (with a Bobby-pin), through all of school, when you moved away (to Weirton) then back to Burgettstown HS for graduation…..you and your family lived next door to my Uncle, aunt and cousins we got to see each other and hang out outside of school……….Through all of the dancing at the Blast Furnace and all of the family and friends we hung with……..moving to CA, meeting the love of your life….growing your family…..through thick and thin…….cards for all occasions……. phone calls…….visits here and there over the years……YOU, my friend, Sandy Mills Sanchez, will be missed. Love you my dear, dear friend always……..soar with the angels 😇🪽……. Hug my dad…….prayers of healing and comfort for ALL of your family……🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thanks for choosing my ear to pierce 💔

Dear Sandy's Family,
I met Sandy at the beginning of the school year when she came into my classroom with the students who mainstreamed for science. She was so wonderful. She paid close attention to everything that happened, from the lesson itself to what the students each needed. She was kind and firm, joyful and patient, with a natural joy that put everyone at ease. I was delighted to meet her, and I thought to myself, our district sure is lucky to have her! I am incredibly sad to learn that Sandy has passed. She was so full of life that it seems impossible that she is no longer with us. Thank you for this chance to share about the few months that I got to work with Sandy.

I was heartbroken to hear of Sandy’s passing. She and I worked together at Glen Oak Elementary School. When we were both assigned to supervise recess, we talked about the kids and solved some issues with her. As someone who was fairly new to the school at the time, I will never forget how warmly she welcomed me.
Sandy was always smiling, always ready to chat, and she had a way of making people feel seen and included. Her kindness and friendly spirit made a lasting impact on me, and I know I wasn’t the only one.
She will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and working with her.
My heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones during this difficult time.
With sympathy,
Ako

Sandy was a complete joy to be with. I had the privilege to work with her at Glen Oak and she was such an amazing person who gave so much to the kids and people around her. She always had a smile on her face, even if she was dealing with her own personal issues, She always looked on the bright side and offered a joke to lighten the mood. She loved kids!! She always wanted to learn more and would work on using her skills to help kids. She was genuinely curious about teaching and working with kids with the most challenges and had a heart of gold. The short time that I had to get to know her, we laughed and cried together. I had so many opportunities to talk with her and get to know her as a person and let me tell you, she was an amazing mom! I admired her strength, tenacity and love of life. You were truly blessed to know her and I'm so sorry she has passed. She deserves a beautiful heavenly life and I'm sad that I can't hear more stories and share more laughter with her. My condolences to her kids, who she loved so dearly!!! She would light up every time she talked about them. Her kids were EVERYTHING to her. If I'm half the mom she was, then I'm doing something right. My students only got to work with her for 1 year but they loved her. She had a loving heart and the kids knew it. I am already missing you Sandy! No more pain and no more suffering my dear, sweet, beautiful friend. ❤️

I got to work with Sandy at Glen Oak. She had a calm way of working with the kids. She was great with them. She always had a smile on her face. We had many great laughs at lunch. I know she made an impression on our students. They would always do a shoutout for her even when she left our school. Sandy will be missed.
