Sweet Sandy

Vivacious Va Va Voom

A smile that lit up every room

A laugh so big it was like the roar of a lion

She could make you feel better without even trying

Every holiday a major ordeal

Matching hat, glasses and attire to really get the feel

If you need a pillow, blanket, and some curtains too

Give her a needle and thread and she could whip it up for you

Making baby blankets with love our kids will have for years

Mending holes in favorite jeans preventing teenage tears

You were always welcomed at her house like you were her own

She would send you sweet cards or checking in texts to your phone

She was really just one of the girls, an extension to our group

She shared our love for big hair and a convertible coupe

Give her a salty margarita

And some spinach dip on a pita

A drink in hand

While dancing to her favorite band

Lounging at the beach

With her toes in the sand

She loved her kids to the moon and back

And somehow loved her grandkids even more than that

Brock just might have been her favorite

She might have tried but couldn’t hide it

Her love for the Pittsburgh Steelers is unsurpassed

She is no fair weather fan her loyalty was built to last

Wearing black and gold whenever she had the chance

I’m sure she’s wearing it now while on the clouds she does dance

Once a cat mom through and through

Until Toby showed her what the love of a dog can do

She was a patriot tried and true

And always stopped to honor those that died for you

She had a bucket list to get through

that included taking until she was in her 70’s to get her first tattoo!

Although Cinco de Mayo is one of her favorite days

May the Fourth be with you was a favorite phrase

As she loved Star Wars and watching those movies

She was like a little kid and didn’t care if it was goofy

She loved having friends and family around

Having fun game nights even if the power went out

She thought life gets better as you get older

“Unless you are a banana” Caroline says she told her

Sweet Sandy how blessed we all are to have been in your path

May the memories be so bountiful we can’t do the math

We celebrate you and the joy you shared

Your laughter, your big heart, and the way you cared

Although we will miss you everyday

Your great memories will show us the way

You are one special lady Sandra Lee

Some call you heart, some call you Mimi

Until that day when we see you again

We will be celebrating your life on earth my friend!

I just heard about her passing 😢 Sandy was a great friend when I worked with her in the 90’s. I knew she was a big Tina Turner fan. I’m so sorry to hear about her passing 😢

Was saddened to learn of Sandy's passing, a great co-worker for many years, can hear that laugh coming down the hall now. Grief is a tough thing, but the honor of knowing her will be in our memories forever! Condolences to the family.

Infectious smile, witty humor, kind heart, a laugh that will never be forgotten, great listener and so many more extraordinary qualities too many to count. Miss Sandy was my friend. Heaven has gained a bright new star. What a blessing Miss Sandy was to us all. This is not a "goodbye" but rather a "til I see you again". Love you Miss Sandy!!!! To Sam and Buddy and your families, your in my thoughts and prayers! My heart goes out to you all. Geez, y'all had a GREAT Mother!

I feel blessed to have known such a sweet lady, I will miss having her on our annual beach trips and the Christmas show.  She was always such a joy to be around… With much love and our sincere condolences Carmen, Jason and family

What an amazing tribute to a wonderful lady. I wasn’t blessed to know her as well as others, but she never made me feel less than those that knew her well.

I have a friend that is about to become a first time grandmother. The first thing I thought of was I needed to ask Sandy to make me hooded bath towels and got the wind knocked out of me when I remembered she is now resting easy.

Much love to her family.
