Sandra's obituary

Our sweet girl, Sandra Lee Patterson Stiles, age 78, passed peacefully on February 28, 2024. Sandy, as she was lovingly known, was born on October 13, 1945, in Sewickley, Pennsylvania. Although she spent more than half of her life in Charlotte, NC, Pittsburgh was always home to her. She was a true Pittsburgh Steelers fan who bled back and gold.
What do you say about a lady that has touched and affected so many lives during her years with us? Our mom was the best! Her smile, sense of humor, love and laughter were infectious. She was always inclusive and made everyone around her feel loved and special. She had a sassiness that always kept us laughing. The universe will never be the same. Many have spoken of how lucky they were to have known her and the memories they shared will be cherished forever. She taught us and those around her how to live each day with joy.
Family was the most important thing to her - especially the love for her grandsons. She loved gatherings with family and friends, and it was always better if a margarita was involved. Crafting and quilting were her passion. She enjoyed making blankets and donating them to the Children’s Hospital. She loved to travel; the beach and mountains were destinations of choice. On her more recent travels, she really enjoyed Maine and the Pacific Northwest. However, her yearly trips back home to Pittsburgh to see sister Sue were always her favorite. And for those who really knew her, you know that Joann’s, Amazon and Temu will miss her dearly.
Sandy is survived by her son, Ronald, known as Buddie (Cindy) and daughter Samantha (Anthony). Sandy was a loving “Mimi” to Zachary (Daniella), Brock, Courtney, Michael (Ashley) and Corey, and “Great Mimi” to Liam, Eva, Calvin, Aurora and Helen along with stepfather Bob (Lucy), sister Susan (Don), brother Bobby (Debbie), and nephew Dameon.
She is preceded in death by her mom (Edith), Memom (Edith), uncle Bill, aunt Helen and nephew Eric.
Sandy was a dedicated mother, Mimi, great Mimi, sister, and friend. She was a biological mom to Bud & Sam and bonus mom to so many of our best friends. Her life and legacy will be celebrated by her family and friends at a later date.  She definitely had a life well lived.
