Sandra "Sandy" Speer née Eason 58, of Mattoon, IL, passed away on May 28, 2022 after an 8 month battle with metastatic breast cancer at Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital.

Sandy was born on February 23, 1964 to Alva and Goldie (Long) Eason in Charleston, IL. She is survived by her husband Kip Speer, three kids Tracee Tate and her husband Matt Tate, Gracie Speer, Tanner Speer, her sister Freda Wheeler, and two grandkids Lorelei Warren and Holsten Tate, all of Mattoon, IL. She was proceeded in death by her parents.

Sandy worked as a telephone operator at Consolidated for over 20 years before retiring in 2013. In her free time she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, reading, resale shopping, fishing, and playing pool.

Sandy was a bright soul who loved hugs, cuddling with her faithful dog Zoe, and who’s favorite color was orange. She was always willing to lend a helping hand whether you were a stranger or her best friend.
