Sandy's obituary
Sandra Jean Lercari (born Friedman; she went by “Sandy”), 80, of Bend, Oregon, passed away peacefully at home on September 13, 2023. She had battled with pancreatic cancer and went through chemo and cancer surgery. Sandy is survived by her husband, and two sons and their families who also reside in the Bend area.
Sandy was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, to Ben and Sylvia Friedman, graduated from Fairfax High, and attended Community College for a while. She later lived in Woodland Hills, CA, with her first husband, and then later lived in Agoura, CA with her two sons. After marrying her second husband, Bob, they moved to Tucson AZ, then on to Newburyport MA, and then to Maui for Bob’s work. After Bob retired, they moved to Bend to be to be near her sons and grandchildren.
As far as work and career went: Sandy was a successful professional potter, and then decided to use her potter’s hands to heal people as a licensed massage therapist mostly working in chiropractor's offices. She then realized it was better to help people before they needed a massage therapist and she studied to become a licensed hypnotherapist and life coach. After Bob got transferred to Maui, Sandy tried stained glass art, but then fell in love with fused and slumped glass art. She loved the colors and vibrancy of the medium. Sandy started Art to Harmony and showed her glass art in galleries and fairs in Maui, and then in the Bend area. Her husband Bob joined Sandy in creating glass art and continues presenting both of their glass art pieces at local art fairs.
A Celebration of Life for Sandy is planned by Bob to occur at their home in Bend on April 10, 2024 which would have been their 30th anniversary. You are invited to attend in person or via zoom, and if you wish, share your thoughts about Sandy. If you would like, send Bob your written thoughts and a photo of yourself with Sandy. Bob will use it to create an album as remembrance.
