I think the first time I met Sandy she was in a classroom at Lowman Hill Elementary School fixing up latkes (potato pancakes) - which Rich was educating us on Judaism. Another memory is of her fixing up pancakes (or French toast?) with powdered sugar at the home by Lake Sherwood. For some reason I have a lot of food memories of her.I also remember that home - and the Carolina blue soda bottles on the shelves. I was too young to appreciate the allegiances at the time.I lost touch with the family after the move out east; sometime back in the 1990s I tripped over a comment in a national publication after Samantha had hit it big with some kid of theatrical production. I can't remember what she said but it was unmistakably Sandy. In recent years we had reconnected on social media and I had enjoyed corresponding with her from time to time. I'll be thanking God for the good memories of her as I go to bed tonight. All the best to the family and those who remember/love her.

Prayers for the family & all who loved Sandy. It was so much fun knowing her as a fellow farmer on Farm Town.

Aunt Sandra was a wonderful lady. Thank you for sharing pics of her smiling face. It was so wonderful to see her,  Uncle Richard and Michael at the reunion! Although I had limited time with her, I'll always remember her sweet and loving nature.

I want to express my condolences on the loss of Sandy. I am happy to have gotten to meet and know her over the last 5 years.

I have such great memories of visiting the Gellar houses on Clay and at Lake Sherwood in Topeka. As a kid you’re very aware of whose parents take an interest in you and whose parents merely tolerate you. Sandy’s warmth and curiosity made a huge impression on me. So did the fact that she talked to me and Mike like we were adults. I’ve tried to model that for my own kids and their friends, as Sandy (and Rich) did for me. I also remember Sandy’s kindness and concern when I stepped on a nail while fishing with Mike. She sat with me in the kitchen, calmly reassuring me while we waited for my mom to arrive to take me to the doctor. It’s been 40-plus years, but these things have stuck with me. My sincerest condolences to Rich, Mike, the whole family, and everyone who loved Sandy.

Sandy will truly be missed.  She was like a second mom to me.  I miss sleepovers at the house and eating Barbe cups, celebrating Passover in June or July, and going there for beef stroganoff.  Rest in peace Sandy, we all loved you very much
