So sad to hear of Sam’s passing. He was always a joy to volunteer with at Food Not Bombs back in the day. He will be missed.

In my short visits to Sacramento, I knew Sam as a calming presence — quiet and easygoing and knowledgeable on many subjects. He had an impressive talent for music, and I loved his smile and sense of humor. I wish I could have spent more time with him, and I'm heartbroken that I can't. I reckon I share that feeling with everyone who knew him.

We were lucky to spent a few years getting to know Sam’s creative soul as a member at The Red Museum. He brought joy, laughter, passion, and lots of heart to the space we shared. We will always remember him.

I remember visiting once when Sam was maybe 7? and he played his original composition on the piano.  Such a bright, talented light in the world. This is just so heartbreaking. 💔
