It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ryan George Morris on September 28, 2021, at the age of 33.

Ryan is survived by his parents George and Zita (Beck) Morris, many Uncles, Aunts and Cousins.

He was pre-deceased by his paternal grandparents, Foster and Daisy (Corbin) Morris; maternal grandparents, Harold and Alice (Walker) Beck; and Uncle Leon Beck.

Ryan was an eccentric man of many interests and passions who had an impeccable way with words, if it was by telling a story or through his writing. He could capture an audience of any age with a story and made people smile with his witty comments and antics. He enjoyed conversation with anyone and learning about people. Ryan was a generous man who welcomed people into his home usually with a pot of tea and delicious homemade baked goods served with homemade preserves.

No matter the persons interest that Ryan interacted with he was able to connect with them because of his wide array of interests. He loved antiques and had a true admiration for the history behind the pieces. Music (especially classical), literature of all types, writing, photography, nature, hiking, birdwatching, exploring, wood-working, gardening, cooking and entertaining guests are some of things he enjoyed most. Reading a book while being in nature was one of his favourite ways to relax or smoking his pipe while listening to a composition.

Ryan took his passions seriously which reflected in his career as an educator. He taught abroad in China and Nova Scotia and was respected by students and staff members. He wanted the best for his students and to make a positive change in their lives. Not only did Mr. Morris teach but he mentored many students throughout his career and made impacts on their chosen career paths. He was a compassionate, approachable teacher and the students enjoyed his engaging, quirky ways and sense of humour.

Ryan was a gentle old soul and a very dear friend to many. He made lasting impressions on numerous lives. This loss is not only felt by his family and friends but also his community.

A celebration of life and a private family inurnment will be held at later dates.
