Summer Fun with the Girls — with Brenda Garcia and Courtney McAuliffe

One of my fondest memories of Ryan is when she was about 8 years old and Courtney was 6/7. I was their fun babysitter (her words) and enjoyed spending time with Ryan and Courtney during my Winter and Summer breaks from college. It was the Summer of 1998 and we were playing in their basement with their cousin Kelsey (4/5) and their aunt Sandy. I don’t remember who had the idea of doing the cheerleader pyramid, but that photo is one of the most beautiful memories I have with all the girls. Ryan was so full of spunk and energy and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was her idea to do the pyramid. Of course, Sandy and I were at the bottom, with  Ryan and Courtney on the second level and Kelsey at the top. I can’t remember how we managed to do that, nor who took the picture or if I used the timer setting on the camera, but that picture is priceless. I will continue to cherish this memory as one of my favorite days with Ryan.

Cherish your life and your loved ones and be grateful to have life. Ryan lived her life to the fullest, with a big heart and a warm smile. Make your days count, like Ryan did. ❤️😇

On behalf of Ryan's many friends at Dyson, we send our condolences and contribute to Canine Therapy Corps in her loving memory. Ryan's impact across Dyson was profound and evident in the donations that came from all departments across the US. We were privileged to work with her, experience her joy, and learn from her. Her positive attitude and strong work ethic have had a lasting impression our organization. She taught us the power of kindness and a smile, and that strength comes from knowing who you are and what you value. In her memory, we will challenge ourselves to live with the same passion and positivity. - Her Dyson Family

Ryan was the first friend I made at Loyola. Her warm, bright spirit made everyone want to be around her. She noticed I was alone in the hallway waiting for class to start and immediately began talking to me when no one else did. We kept in touch all these years through social media, and always gave each other positive encouragement and compliments. She is so missed.

Ryan, to me you will always be that little girl who’s giggle was contagious. I know you spread your happiness every where you went. You had a spark in you that light up a room when you walked in and I’m not talking about your red hair. You had this positive energy that you carried with you and I can only imagine what you were like as an adult. In our last conversation you said when your parents and Courtney were back in town we would all get together. I was thrilled and so happy to finally get to see all of you after all these years. And now I’m sad beyond belief to know that I’ll never get to see you again in this lifetime.
The pyramid is one of my favorite pictures with Ryan (middle right), Kelsey, Courtney, auntie Sandy and me.
One of my fondest memories of Ryan was on a summer evening when I was watching her and Courtney and the dog. At such a young age she was quick on her feet when something needed immediate attention. Something spilled on the carpet and Ryan, being the big sister took charge, she quickly yelled out to Courtney to grab some paper towels while she ran to get the carpet cleaner spray bottle. Ryan was so concerned her mom would be upset to see a stain on the carpet that she quickly sprayed and wiped and sprayed and wiped until there was no sign of anything. Even though I tried to reassure her that her mom wouldn’t get upset because accidents happen, she couldn’t bear to disappoint her mom. I’m sure this wonderful quality transcended in other areas of her life. When I told Mirna what happened she laughed. I was so impressed with her behavior that I remember thinking that night, when I have a daughter I hope she’s just like Ryan.
Taken from us so soon without warning only makes it harder to accept, but my faith tells me we’ll meet again someday in Heaven. You’re our angel up above and a beautiful memory to those fortunate enough to have known you. Your spirit will live on in those of us who knew you.
🙏🏼RIP my sweet Ryan Marie McAuliffe😇
I love seeing you all at the South Loop studio on Saturdays and especially love having you in my c2. It warms my heart to see moms and daughters practicing together. You are such a wonderful, warm family and I am heartbroken for your devastating loss. I wish I could be there on Thursday, please know that you are in my heart and thoughts.
❤️ Stefanie

Ryan was one of my first friends when I transferred to Hinsdale Central in 2005. It's rare to meet people who are genuinely kind and Ryan was, without a doubt, one of them.

Ryan was my bus buddy and neighbor when the McAuliffes lived in the house down the street. I remember seeing her yellow car parked in the driveway and how excited we were when she got her driver's license. She was always so accepting and inclusive, so bright and happy. I remember her telling me stories about her family and how much she loved having Courtney as a younger sister.

A few years after high school, despite both being busy with school and work and not hearing from each other very often, she unexpectedly showed up to the premiere of one of my personal projects to support me. This was and will continue to be a fond memory for me and a reminder that I always had a friend in Ryan. I have no doubt in my heart that she offered the same kindness and generosity to all of the friends she had in her life and I'm so lucky to have had her as a friend.

My deepest condolences to her family and friends. Please know that you're all in my prayers.

I was blessed to work with Ryan, and though it was for less than a year she made a huge impact on me. I left Fieldglass to volunteer abroad, and when I came back she invited me out with other coworkers and friends and I was so happy to see her. She had an amazing ability to make people feel valued and important. I'll never forget her positive outlook on life and how fun she was to be around. She lit up the room. I'm so grateful to have known such a kind soul.

To the McAuliffe family, I am incredibly sorry for your loss.

Ryan had such a positive energy about her that was incredibly infectious. She always let you know she was thinking about you. She sent frequent reminders that she was thinking about her friends in Arizona. Always saying she missed us and loved us. She made everyone around her feel important, beautiful, and loved. That is something incredibly special and rare.

Ryan, I know you are with us in spirit. I know you will be with us on our wedding days, during every happy moment, and every hardship.

We look forward to celebrating you for the rest of our days.

I love you and forever miss you.

Erin

A group of our coworkers (plus my boyfriend) decided to have a girl's night and go see Aladdin on Broadway. I remember we all had such a fun time catching up and were laughing the entire night. Ryan was one of the most genuine, cheerful people I have had the honor to meet. We will all miss her dearly.
