I thoroughly enjoyed traveling in Europe with Rusty’s family and always looked forward to chatting about our love for cars. I was looking forward to finally showing our vehicles in the same car shows this summer. He will be missed; I’ll cherish the memories.

I was very distraught when I heard the news of Rusty's passing.  He was my 1st cousin and we spent many summers traveling to Houston to see Rusty, Richard, and Beckey and family.  Those were great times and wonderful memories.  Some of the best times of my life.   Rusty was a little older than me and I always looked up to him.  So sorry for your loss.  He will be missed.

Ginny, Meredith, Morgan and Family, The Bollmann Family sends all their love and support. It is pure joy to see all these fantastic pictures of Rusty. This man, myth, and legend truly put his mark on this world. Ginny and Rusty created a beautiful family, and for that I will always be thankful. Know that our hearts are with you this weekend, even if we are not able to attend. I hope the weekend brings friends, love, and the remembrance of one amazing man. Rusty and pedalboats — with Rusty Lane

Rusty was a very creative person. We enjoyed his Facebook posts that showed the beauty of Olympia and the wonderful landscaping around his own home. We enjoyed Ginny and Rusty when thy came back to Houston.  We are going to miss him!❣️

Rusty’s first question of me was something like “Well, how much can you afford?” He was so welcoming when we first met, which was when he and Ginny ended up becoming my landlords. He made my dream of living on Puget Sound a reality with that small adjustment to the rent. He could have easily turned me away and I could not have overestimated the impact it would have on the trajectory of my life that he didn't. Rusty lived large and made you feel like anything was possible. His confidence inspired me to dream big and go after those dreams. Always generous with his time and resources, he loaned me his boats and got me on the water. He let me find my own way, offering advice quietly and with no judgement on whether I took it or not. I’ve never met anyone so self-assured and self-directed as Rusty. If he wanted something, he figured out how to get it and always seemed to be clearly enjoying the journey at least as much as the destination. He introduced me to the PNW and a life I didn’t even have the knowledge to dream was possible. I’m so grateful for the gentle shove from Ginny that pushed Traci and me together, and I am equally grateful for the many opportunities that Rusty unlocked for me through his kindness, generosity, and a way of living that inspired me and many others to go out and experience all this life has to offer while we can.

I was so sorry to hear about Rusty passing. I really enjoyed meeting him and other family members when he and Hugh Jackson came to Annapolis MD; I was so pleased he took such great care of my Uncle Hugh Jackson. And I enjoyed keeping up with Rusty on Facebook Book and learning about all his hobbies.

I was so sad when I heard the news of Rusty's passing. I know that he was a great dad & husband. I remember how much fun he was at one of the art conferences he attended with Ginny. He had a great sense of humor & he put up with all of us with a smile.

Great people like Rusty live on through memories. ❤️
