Mrs. Rose Eugenia McClain Smith age 90 of Americus, Passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2020. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2020 at the Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange Georgia. Rev. Darrell Brown will officiate.
Mrs. Smith was born September 22, 1929 in Gore, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Herbert McClain and the late Rachel Irvine McClain. She retired from Georgia Southwestern State University, where she worked as a secretary for campus security. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a member of the United Methodist Women and a member of the Epworth Sunday School Class. She was a beloved mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law Gail Sartain of Americus and Alison Register (Keith) of Yulee FL. A son and daughter-in-law Stephen Smith (Karen) and six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by two sisters and a stepmother Estelle Fricks McClain.
