Scarlett, so sad that Ron has passed. He was a terrific person. Helen Dasovich told me about his condition. In the last 6 months of 2019, our daughter’s husband died in June; my husband, Clyde, abd her dad, died in August; and our only son, and her brother, died in December. I sold the farm and now live in St. Charles, MO.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Coach Evans. Nothing but fond memories and fun stories. He exuded enthusiasm and love for Old Mill football and track. What a fun staff to have played for with Coach Evans, Coach Lawton, Coach Regala and Coach Frankhouser. I’ll never forget those years. He’ll certainly be missed. Peace and love to Coach Evans’ family and many friends.

Dear Mrs. Evans, Rhonda and Todd,
Reflecting on so many wonderful memories, the love the four of you shared was admirable, inspirational and influential in my life. Mr. Evans was an amazing person who will be greatly missed by all and I am lucky to have known him. Your dad was so proud of you, Todd. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
With much love,
Pam

Without a doubt, Coach Evans and my mother are the two most influential people in this world. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to tell them both how I felt before they passed and I am sure I am not alone in this sentiment. I know my brother Ira Queen feels exactly the same as so many of my team mates from 1979-1982 or Old Mill.
Coach Evans wasn’t just a great coach, he was so much more than that. He was always looking to bring out the best in me, challenged me athletically and intellectually. He had ideas about the way things could be and worked hard to bring others along in his success, never taking the credit for himself and always sharing it with others.
I have my life, my career, and now my very comfortable retirement as a result of life lessons I learn from Coach Ron Evans. I will be eternally grateful for having had the opportunity to know him, to learn from him, and to love him.
I am so, so sorry for your loss Evans Family. Your husband, father, and grandfather is larger than life and we will all miss him dearly. Please know that my family’s prayers have been lifted up since the day we learned of his passing. Thank you for sharing him with all of us all of these years.
Sincerely,
Skip Lee

Coach Evans was my gym teacher for eight semesters and track coach for eight seasons. He challenged me to always try my best and that as long as I tried, it was good enough. He made me a better person, thinking about others before myself. He made me want to go into coaching and motivate student athletes like he did. I always said if he called me up and asked me to rob a bank, I would, no questions asked. If he asked, there was a good reason. I don’t think he realized how much he meant to me and so many others.
