Greetings:

We offer our sincere condolences to Shakara, Mike, and the entire family. We will continue to lift you up in our prayers.

Here is a tribute to one of the most amazing persons, that we have had the honor to share, engage with, and to blessed to know.

A love poem for Brem!

Funkstify up in Heaven with golden guitar. He is not gone, just gaze up at the Stars!
God has you in the palm of His Hands
We have you in our hearts.
My friend, baby girl’s God father, their Uncle, my Brother, and All
Your love and support have been superior, to none...no flaws!
Delta Rho, Northern Cal, Berkeley Jazz festival, all the music one could bear…
Brem, Mr. cool, contrasting, and calm. Will not do you any harm! Nat’s teddy bears!
Black Byrd, and Mr. George, Boosie all them too, traveling the world, Japan, Rome, Italy, and Amsterdam! True.
Been in Africa touring, here, and there, handling Funk business, with a stare.
Funkstify up in Heaven Business, with a golden guitar!
Three decades ago, stood tall at the post, P-funk shined you were the host!
Strutted and Strolled down soul train line, undisputed, style and Grace! Its Brimstime!
Ya were right there when she popped out. Twenty-nine years, you have shown out, remembering baby girl year after year; in 2019, your presence crowned the festivities, right gardens of the ATL, southern belle!
Even today, our heart is fluttering with smiles, there are many words to say. That on this special Day, we love you, we honor your life and your legacy and will always be cherished the memories with joy!
God has you in the palm of His Hands
We have you in our hearts. Always!

My condolences to all of Brem's love ones. I met Brem during my 1st year of teaching for LAUSD at 116th Street Elementary. God sent him to support me, for if not during that first year I would have quit the first week. He and his black bag was my mentor for the rest of the year. He will always have a special place in my heart. Some earthly angels get their wings early so they can give us earthlings more support and protection while we wait our turn. He had the biggest heart for all those he came in contact with and a profound love for his wife and daughter. I will deeply miss his spirit and SOUL!

Kind, genuine, and steadfast are a few words that come to mind as I remember Mr. Brembry. He had a heart of gold and left an indelible mark at 116th Street ES. ❤️ Rest well.
I will always remember Brem as a great teacher with a kind heart and a great sense of humor. His love and dedication to the students and staff of 116th St Elementary will never be forgotten. Blessings and prayers to his family and friends. Love always, Dr. J

Since meeting you in 1970 at San Jose State you became a lifelong friend..mentor..protector and “philosopher “ in my life...you introduced me to Jimi Hendrix...”there must be some kind of way outta here” ...All Along the Watchtower..rings in my head when I think about you ......trips to Berkeley, San Francisco, horseback riding, cooking Sunday dinners while we all watched football..then later calls from you from all over the country as you lived your dreams on stage & behind the scenes. I’m thankful we were still in touch these past few years. Gone too soon but I will see you on the other side. Love you Brem❤️

Stephen McClendon
19, San José State University, Washington Sq, San Jose, CA, USA
My name is Stephen McClendon, former Junior Grand Polemarch of Kappa Alpha psi Fraternity. I met Brem 50yrs ago. When he looked me up while attending San Jose University. The first question Brem had was, was there a chapter to pledge to become a Kappa. And, at the time it wasn't. I reinstated the Chapter with the assistance of Brem. After, initiation Brem was a very conscientious and dependable Bro.. As, life went on we would see each other maybe twice the year. And as his health has been up and down we spoke once a week. Brem will be missed. Job well done Bro. Brem, Job well done . As he has transitioned To The Chapter Invisible. Brotherhood in the Bond
Rest in Peace my friend. The "girls" and I are sharing Hugs in your memory. When I'm feeling low, all I have to do is remember you saying, "You got this, Ms. Lute. You may have left this earth, but you will always be in our hearts. Love, Hugs, and Kisses.
For 50 years, God let Brem and I have the best relationship two human beings could have. Friends, Family, Frat, Fun, and the Funk... the big 5 F’s in our life. The big brother I never thought I would have. I love you, but I am glad that God has given you peace and freedom from the pain and suffering. You have been there for all the people you knew, and now God is there for you. You will be in our hearts forever and a day 💔🖤💚🙏🏾
Brem, you were such a kind heart. Your love for others glowed in your aura. My family was blessed to have had you as a part of our lives.

D Byrd humming in the background - you know which one. Along the watchtower keeping a view for the mothership. What's that like? You see Rick Curry up there, always threw a great party, what's up. Started the party at State on Thursday, ended with the bullfights on Sunday (perfect 36). Making breakfast for neighbors and fence creepers on Saturday. Berkeley - GA was a good hangout, no slipp'n for us. M G ing along to the KAPPA House. Which frat game? What a beautiful baby! Backstage Pfunk'n in San Antone. Drill team'n in Jose. Watching football at sis Dana. Time flies much to quickly; you flew much too soon, time has come today. Still humming with Byrd. Love you Brem, save a spot at the table.
His Kindness, Smile and Wisdom Will Be Missed. So Glad I Had The Opportunity To Meet and Share Some Time At 116th. Rest In Peace. ❤🙏🏼❤🙏🏼❤
My Sincere Condolences and Prayers for Friends and family...
