Roland earned his AA degree in 1972, and then graduated from San Francisco State University in 1974, with a Bachelor's degree in Education, while welcoming Suzanne, his youngest child, in the same year. Roland went on to teach at Sir Francis Drake Elemtary, which would later be renamed Malcolm X Academy, for decades, where he was affectionately known as Mr. Horn, by hordes of adoring students. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 47 yrs., Regina, sister, Betty, brother Tony, sons Timothy, and Christopher, daughter Rolena, granddaughter Ariana, grandsons, Anthony, Neamiah and Maliky, great grandson Isaiah, great granddaughters Larae and Neveah , cousins George, Michael, and Wayne, and a host of nephews, and nieces. Uncle Ro, Honey, Dad, Cuz, Roland, whatever moniker he was called, was with reverence, respect, and admiration, because his heart was too big for his body- from taking in countless family members, to helping random strangers, or whoever needed help, Roland was a giver, and bent over backwards to help others. He
will be missed dearly in the physical, but his spirit will resonate eternally, with those who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.
