Dear Rodney - Your whole family and all of your friends like me were thinking of you especially hard yesterday.  You'd been in Heaven a year yesterday, so we know you're running things by now.  Maybe you've even written a book about your experiences!  I wonder - do you have deep discussions with folks about your beliefs?  I bet you do, and that you challenge them to think, like you always challenged us.  We all miss you something fierce, Rodney.  I'm in no hurry to meet you there, but it will be fun when I do.  Love, Linda (your Kentucky Fried Chicken lunch date)
I'm his nephew namesake and knew him my whole life. My mom was his older sister and named me Michael after him. I learned about lot of life and how to manage it from my Uncle. He taught me so much. I will always remember him and miss him.

We enjoyed Rodney at the SRBC book club holiday parties. He was always a wealth of knowledge! Rest in peace and power my friend!
In response to "What was the most fun you ever had with Rodney?"
The last time I saw Rodney was when I visited him in the hospital, before he was moved to hospice.  But that's not the memory I'll cherish.  I'll always remember our lunches together.  I believe our last one was in February. Whenever Rhonda traveled, I'd buy us fried chicken dinners from Popeyes and we'd have great discussions while we enjoyed our food. Our favorite topic was religion. He broadened my thinking about it.  But we also discussed his life experiences and mine, how proud he was of his girls, and his love and appreciation for all Rhonda did for him. I'm really going to miss our talks. Rodney was intelligent, well-read, and a critical thinker. He challenged you not to accept what you read or were told without examining it. Rest well, scholar.
