Rodney and I played a lot of basketball at Pacwest Gym. Although we lost touch with each other, I considered him like a very close friend. I remember how shocked he was when he went to work at Boeing, he said they played cards more than they worked back then. Just sitting around waiting for the inspection.

I was shocked to hear the news of Rodney‘s passing as it had been a little while since we’ve talked  he crossed my mind recently before his passing. I meant to reach out to him to see how he was doing. I worked with him for a number of years and I always enjoyed our conversations weather it was about shoes, politics, life, or travel he had a curiosity and humor and seriousness about each one. So although it may have been a while since we’ve talked, I will miss our conversations.  My prayers go out to you Mrs. Speight your children and to  his family. I am praying for you May the  Holy Spirit bring you peace and comfort during this time of loss.

My prayers and deepest sympathies

God bless.

Joseph Newton

I had a funny memory about Rodney this morning. It was this morning when a coworker was talking about an annoying kids show their toddler liked to watch. I remember when my daughter was 3 and he and Amy gave me tix to Doodlebops at the Paramount (they were an EXTREMELY annoying silly clown singing group that she loved). Me, not knowing what it was, I happily took my daughter.

When he asked me how the show was, he was dying laughing at my (very blunt) opinion of the singing and dancing extravaganza that my daughter enjoyed. I think his laugh was the best.

Rodney was one of the nicest most sincere people I have ever had the pleasure of building a connection with. From the moment I first met him until the last time we conversed he genuinely wanted to know about your life and shared his wisdom and perspective. He talked about riding quads and traveling the world. He gave advice on how to get through life; he was a constant reminder to stay calm and move forward. His conversations will be dearly missed his infectious laugh will never be forgotten.

Amy my heart goes out to you and Rodney's family and friends. Such an amazing kind soul that left this earth too soon. May all the incredible memories get you through that hard days.
Rodney's personality was bigger than life. He made about a 100 friends a day. Would laugh and talk to anyone. One  of sayings. "Make me understand why" If you made a decision that he didn't agree with. 🤣😂🤣

Sending my condolences to the family. Rodney was a customer of mine back when I use to work for Masterpark. Few years had passed and I hadn't seen him up until one day I was training at a station and he stopped to say hi and said "Hey i know you" haha. He was a genuinely good person and had a heart of gold. Always checking in on everyone asking how they were but when the roles were reversed he was very short, he was private with anything asked about himself. My heart goes out to him and his family and to all of those who worked closely with him at his station.
Rodney was a very hard working person, he took a lot of pride in his job. Whenever Julia and I would go to the Solid Waste Facility to dump debris, he would always greet us with a huge smile and ask us what we were up to that day. He would always make sure that we ate well whenever we saw him. The last time Julia and I ran into him, he met up with us at the Dixie's diner in Sumner, he was so happy and greeted us both with a smile a big hugs. He was always so happy to be a blessing to others and always had a positive attitude. I didn't know Rodney very well, but what I learned from Julia is that he loved big, and cared hard for his family. He was a loving and dotting husband, father, grandpa and brother. Julia cherished the role that he played in her life as her bonus dad and she knew how lucky she was to have Rodney as a role model in her son's life as well. She shared a dream with me after he passed, they were sitting together and laughing while eating his two favorite things Charlie's cheesesteaks and strawberry lemonade. I told her this was him communicating his love to her from heaven and that he will live on through the light and life of his beloved family and friends.

Rodney was awesome and will be missed. He always made me laugh too with funny stories of when he and Amy would take my daughter Sophie and just in general brought a smile to anyone's face. I am glad God had blessed us to have him be apart of our family. He was cool! I will miss him a lot.
Amy and family, what a lovely tribute page. We are thinking of you and hope you won't hesitate to reach out for whatever you need. Much love. Chris and Chuck
