Robyn's obituary

Robyn Tomas, 72, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025, surrounded by her family at home. Born January 22, 1953, in Lordsburg, New Mexico, Robyn's life was marked by her devotion to the people she loved and her belief that we all have a duty to improve the world. Together with her husband John, Robyn raised five children: two biological and three adopted.

Her sharp wit and genuine care extended beyond her household. When Robyn lost her daughter Jenny, she was moved to help other families with children fighting cancer. This led her to help found the Candlelighters of El Paso. Families navigating childhood cancer continue to benefit from their services to this day.

After leaving El Paso, the Tomas family settled in Ruidoso where Robyn found her peace in the mountains. Her front porch was a place filled with birdseed, apples, and wildflowers to welcome every creature that passed by. She and John spent years exploring National Parks and creating memories on every road they traveled together.

She was a true bookworm. Her mornings often began with iced tea and a book at McDonald's before heading home to what mattered most- the people and pets who made a house a home.

She is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Louella, her brother Walter, and her daughter Jenny Sunshine. She is survived by her husband John, three daughters Autumn, Amber, and Ananda, her son Jemm, and her grandchildren Indigo, Emery, and Evet.
