Robert's obituary

Robert E. Soper, DO age 66 of Audubon, NJ died at home on February 15, 2023. He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Cynthia (nee Antolini) and was a devoted father to: sons Matthew and Colin (Catherine) Kulick-Soper, and daughters: Caite (Samuel) Hafensteiner, Lauren, Juliana (Natalie), and Mia. He is also survived by his brothers, Wesley and Richard, cousin Marlene Losee, nephews Christopher and Paul, niece Stefanie, as well as several other nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and the Antolini family.

Robert was a lifelong area resident who graduated St. Francis DeSales School in Barrington and Paul VI High School in Haddonfield, where he was active in the student government and served as a class president. He graduated in 1991 from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, specializing in Aerospace Medicine and Emergency Medicine, served in the US Navy as a flight surgeon, and later returned to the South Jersey area to continue his work in Emergency Medicine. His latest position was in Pennsauken, NJ working for AFC Urgent Care. He was an exceptionally skilled clinician that placed great importance on providing personal quality care and developing a positive respectful rapport with patients, both civilian and veteran. He was also a passionate medical educator and mentor to the next generation of clinicians. He was an avid reader who enjoyed music and the arts. He became a military buff spurred on by the fact that his father and two uncles survived the attack at Pearl Harbor while stationed there as active duty sailors. He learned to sail and fish as a child in Brigantine and carried those passions into his adult life. Ultimately, what he valued most was time with his family.

The family will receive relatives and friends 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. at Christ The King Church, 200 Windsor Avenue, Haddonfield, NJ. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held privately.
