With heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your dear husband and dad. I met Bob in high school. He was not only so smart, he was also a great artist. He was someone you could talk to for HOURS. I was sad when his parents passed away much too young. Bob was also too young to lose them, but I know they were right there to carry him away when he left his earthy body. I am so happy that I got to see him (and Cindy) a few times at PVI a few years later when I was back there teaching again, as two of the Soper children were students there at that time. Bob will never be forgotten by all who were lucky to know him and love him.

I worked with Dr Soper in an ER. I was a new nurse. He was kind , compassionate , absolutely hilarious in stressful times. He was a great mentor to myself and residents. However, my fondest memory was when i was wrongly accused as a nurse of something that no one should ever have to go through unless they deserve it in their career. Whenever, other physicians learned about my situation- they would say “ She must have done this, how could a nurse be wrongfully accused by administrators.” But Not Dr Soper. He was willing to go to bat for me , he knew me and my ethics. He offered support through this horrible ordeal. He even spoke in my behalf. Anyway, years later I went on to become a Nurse Practitioner- I wished I shared with him how much of influence he was in my career- how much I appreciate that letter of recommendation when others turned their back. Wonderful person and kind soul with a great smile and a hint of sarcasm!
God Bless you and your family and all the lives you’ve saved and touched along the way.

Dear Soper Family
May God’s love comfort you in this time of great loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Bob was a dear friend and colleague that I will miss every day. His texts and e mails were something I looked forward to. Bob was one of the most brilliant individuals I have had met during my medical career. His oratory skills and command of the language was legendary. His empathy and compassion for his patients was always front and center. i will cherish the rosary he gave me at my retirement party in May. He was a true renaissance man. There was nothing he could not do. I will say a prayer to St Teresa for him and his family. He would like that as he prayed to St Teresa as well for guidance. He was a man of deep faith. Rest In Peace , my dear friend!

One of a kind. That's the best way for me to describe Bob Soper. Sharp-tongued wit. Dapper-dresser. Soul of an artist. Compassionate healer. Proud father. Loyal friend who was good to my family in tough times. A BIG presence. The first time I met Bob, he came bounding across my lawn in his flight suit: bold and charismatic; I will never forget that powerful first impression. One only need consider the six beautiful, talented, caring, intelligent humans that Bob and Cindy brought into this world to measure the man. Bob, I wish I had one more chance to verbally spar with you, one more glimpse of your twinkling eyes, one more hug. Rest in Peace, my friend, and thanks for the memories.

Condolences to Cynthia and family, Bob was a fantastic caring wonderful physician. I had the pleasure of training and ultimately practicing with Bob and Kennedy in CH where he ultimately became director. Bob was truly a compassionate caring and passionate ED physician who was passionate about his profession. He was a pleasure to work with. I enjoyed his humor and interactions as fellow ED physicians. I am sure he will be sorely missed by his wonderful family who he was so very proud of and by his patients and community who he served. I will remember Bob always as a loving and proud father and husband and committed and dedicated physician. May you rest in peace Bob , you will be missed by your loving family and community. Sincerely, Francesca DiLeonardo- Sidor
