I am as a total loss for words. My deepest condolences to your family. I just called to schedule an appointment. Dr. Robert Russell was one of a kind. He replaced my knee with a hinge devise, (one of the few in Dallas that did this procedure). He definitely left a legacy. I am forever thankful for his skill and care.

It is with great heartache and deepest sympathy I send my condolences to the family of Dr. Robert Russell. He was not only incredibly skilled, but one of the rarest of physicians that exuded a sincere calming warmth of care. I am forever thankful to him and blessed to have had the privilege of experiencing his shining star.

Today marks 3 months since we lost Rob; our son, father, brother, friend, colleague and doctor. The outpouring of love, prayers, words of strength, flowers, food, and donations to his boys has helped my family manage through this grief immensely. To say it simply, thank you.
When my family was all together in April, we spent some time telling stories about Robert. My dad shared a story about when he and Rob were training for the BMW Dallas half marathon in the Fall of 2018. Early in Rob's training he always said he could never imagine being able to run the loop around White Rock Lake. For those who are familiar with this lake in Dallas and for those who may not be, it is a 9 mile loop around a famous lake in North-East Dallas. They started training in June 2018 and on September 3, 2018 Rob finally completed the loop. My dad remembers Rob being in disbelief and overjoyed with his progress. In the last 3 months, I have started running and I want to invite you to join me and my family in our first annual #RunForRob on his birthday, September 1st, 2020. There will be more details to come, but this will be a "virtual" run (or walk) that you can do in honor of Rob wherever you are. If you are interested in participating with my family and me then please message me by August 1st, 2020 to receive the details about #RunForRob.

With love,
Catherine + the entire Russell family

I am so very sorry. Dr. Russell replaced both of my hips 2 weeks apart when he was at the Carrell Clinic. I followed him to Ortho Texas. I sent him more patients and was very sad when he left. This obituary confirmed my worst fears. Please accept my deepest condolences.

The news of Dr. Russell's passing was a shock to both me and my wife … we liked him so much. I saw the news actually trying to find his phone to make an appointment. Please let me know details of his memorial.
So sorry to hear this. Dr Russell was an amazing doctor who gave me the gift of his brilliant surgical talents with 2 new hips. He was so caring, supportive and had such a sweet demeanor. May his memory be an eternal blessing.
Rob, certainly amazingly intelligent and so very talented, had a laugh I will not forget. I was fortunate to know him on a personal level due to buying, selling and improving multiple homes w them. My heart breaks for his parents, family members, sons and all those who shared Rob’s love thru his years. David and I are saddened for you all and wish the family our sincerest condolences. Losing a child is horrific. Hold on to the greatest memories! He is with you always. God bless and our prayers are with you all! Truly. Dave and Darlene Harrison.

I was a patient of Dr. Russell when he was at The Carrell Clinic. He by far was my favorite doctor. Always listening to you and smiling. I was so afraid of having hip surgery but he calmed me saying "You are not ready for surgery yet so let's try PT for a while and when you are ready for surgery you will tell me." He was so right about that! I'm going to miss him tremendously. My heart felt condolences to the family. May you find healing, peace, and strength during this time of grief.
All my sympathy, love and prayers are sent to the Russell family!
There are no words that can express how deeply sad we are for you to have lost Robert much too soon. God bless you with His comfort, peace and grace during this very difficult time!
Love, Lisa Kern

He was an awesome and talented surgeon having a caring bedside manor. I had the privilege of having him as my surgeon. It saddens my heart knowing he is no longer with us. Claudette Staska

That Smile. Always a pleasure rounding with Dr. Rob on his patients. His warmth and enthusiasm was almost as contagious as his smile.
