Robert's obituary
He met the love of his life Jackie Wells while living in Anaheim, California and they married in 1960. Through thick and thin, Robert and Jackie spent over 60 years together, working, traveling and raising their first 2 sons (Tim and Perry) while living on campus at Cal Poly SLO. Upon graduating with an Architectural degree in 1967 the family moved to Stockton, then Lodi where they built their first home in 1969. Josh, son number 3, born in 1974, moved with Robert and Jackie when they left California for the green hills of Oregon in 1991.
Robert and his business partner Larry Wenell, formed Morris & Wenell Architects and Planners in Lodi in 1973 and designed and built a multitude of properties over the years. Their award winning design work is visible throughout Lodi and Northern California including Hutchins Street Square, Lodi City Hall, the Lodi Post Office, Oak Grove Regional Park and numerous churches including Grace Point (Temple Baptist Church), St. Peters Lutheran, and Vinewood Community. After retiring and moving to Oregon in 1991, Robert continued his architectural passion, designing homes in the Eugene area, and Sedona, Arizona where they were constructed by his brothers and nephews. One of his last design projects and a personal favorite, The Harney Lane Winery, was completed for their longtime friends George and Kathy Mettler and Kyle and Jorja Lerner.
Robert is survived by "the love of his life, his best friend, his wife" Jackie Morris of 60 plus years, sons, Tim (& Nancy) Morris of Milwaukee, OR, Perry (& Cara) Morris of Galt, CA, and Joshua (& Linnea) Morris of Camas, WA, 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers and many nieces and nephews.
