When Bob was working the midnight shift in Boston and living in Quincy, and, I was teaching at Woods Hole from 6pm-9pm, I would pick up Bob in Quincy and he would keep me company for the ride, read a book in the lobby while I taught, and then I would drop him off in Boston for his shift. One night we showed up for class and a custodian was cleaning up from a party that afternoon in the lobby. When I explained that I was teaching, the custodian asked if I wanted him to leave all the hors d’oeuvres
and wine for my class. I said "sure"! Not only did many of my students have some wine during class, after class Bob and I sat and drank wine for about an hour on the balcony overlooking Great Harbor! Tough night at the office :)
