If anyone has ordered anything from IKEA you know how confusing the directions are to put it together. Well, I was sharing with Sharon my frustrations with the desk I had ordered and she “ volunteered” Bob to put it together! Of course I couldn’t turn that down so here they both show up Saturday morning with smiles on their faces ready to go, Bob went right to it. Put all the parts in order on the floor and tackled the chaotic situation. After a 3 hour afternoon of head scratching and some laughs they left with the legs attached and said they’d be back the next day. After a couple more hours….the desk and the drawers were all working like they should! It looked like a desk!! Lots of hugs and laughter followed! What a guy. I would have thrown the screws and wood into the trash long ago! I will never purchase anything from IKEA again. And now as I sit at my desk each morning on my computer I can’t help but think of good ol Bob and his willingness and his tenacity to finish something he started! Always with that smile you just can’t forget!
Great memories from his and Sharon’s visits to Eau Claire visiting Beth in college. He always had a story or two to tell! Loved his visits. Hugs sent to your family!!
Bob and Sharon were 1/4 of our 500 card club for many years. We had a lot of fun times together. Robert J. - you were a loyal friend and a wonderful husband and dad. You will be missed.
To all of Bob's family, but especially to my long time friend (whom I met in college), Sharon, my heart and my prayers are with you. I will share this news with John, as well. Bob is now in a perfect place (no more pain). Cherish your many precious memories.
Bob’s cheering on the sidelines is what pushed me through so many basketball and softball games with Beth. I hadn’t seen him in awhile but I will never forget his encouragement and joy when supporting his girls and their friends.
I hope you find peace in the many amazing memories you shared with Bob. You’re in my thoughts.
