Rob's obituary

Robert “Rob” D. Holman, III, age 32, of Nashville, TN, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully on September 14, 2024, at his home in Nashville, TN.

Born in Hoffman Estates, IL, Rob was the beloved son of Robert D. Holman, Jr. and Debra L. Holman. Rob was a graduate of The University of Tennessee; Knoxville earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree and went on to build a successful career in logistics. Recently, Rob embarked on an exciting new venture, opening a logistics and transportation office in Nashville, TN.

Rob is survived by his parents, Robert and Debra Holman of Murfreesboro, TN, and his brother, Matthew D. Holman of Nashville, TN. He is also survived by his grandmothers, Gail M. Holman and Betty L. Lester; his uncles Harvey Holman and Mark Lester, and his aunt Susan Lester (Mark’s wife); and his cousins Harvey Holman, Jr., Jacob Holman, Rachel Lester, Charlie Lester, and Campbell (Gabriel) Aranda. Rob was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Robert D. Holman and Delbert E. Lester. Rob leaves behind a host of dearly loved friends and extended family who were touched by his warmth and generosity.

A visitation will be held on September 21, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Woodfin Funeral Home, 1488 Lascassas Pike, Murfreesboro, TN 37130. A Celebration of Life will take place the following day, September 22, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Happy’s, 302 W Main St, Murfreesboro, TN 37130. We would love for our friends and family to join us as we gather to honor and celebrate Rob’s life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Rob’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society. While Rob himself was not affected by these diseases, other family members have been, making these causes particularly meaningful.

Rob always had a sparkle in his eyes and a smile that could light up any room. His laughter was infectious, and his kindness, compassion, and genuine nature touched everyone he met. Rob had a unique ability to make others feel loved and valued, which was a true testament to his remarkable character. Rob’s parents, brother, family, and friends are immensely proud of the incredible person he was. Rob’s memory will forever serve as a beacon of kindness and love.
