With a heavy heart, I announce the passing of my beloved sheepdog-cattle dog mix, River, who left us peacefully by natural causes in the comfort of his bed at home. River, adopted from the Yolo County Animal Shelter in 2008, brought immeasurable joy, protection, and love into my life for 17 remarkable years.
