Rita's obituary
- Rita Mary (King) McGrath, 75, of Milton, VT, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 02, 2022 after a sudden battle with cancer. Rita was born on September 13, 1946 to Frank and Ethel King of Burlington, VT. Rita has 3 children, Michael McGrath jr, Kathi McGrath and Joy McGrath. Rita was a wonderful and dedicated mother to all her children. Rita excelled at supporting her family, she was there for them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. Rita worked for many years for Boves’s Restaurant, within the Burlington school system, at the RVA and the VFW. She loved people and gave her time generously to friends and family. Rita was a passionate caregiver, taking care of many people throughout her life and donating to many organizations including those for cancer and animal welfare. When she wasn’t doing something for others she loved spending time with and gathering with her family, taking care of her pets, cooking (she was an excellent cook) and sharing the food, tending to the flowers in the front yard, the garden and grapes in the back and going to the casino with her friends and family. Rita was always such a lucky woman and she would light up when her fortune struck. We will miss her immeasurably and always.
- She is survived by all three of her children, her boyfriend Jim Wells, her mother, brothers and sisters as well as grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers please send any donation in her name to a charity of your choice. - A celebration of life will be held at the VFW in Winooski.
