To Jim and Rita's family, my deepest condolences.  She was one special lady and an angel on earth, so no doubt she is dancing with the angels in heaven.  

To Rita - the poem I shared with you on your last day.  Best Friends by Gloria Swan Kennedy - A deep and lasting friendship comes after many, many years... After sharing fun and laughter, some sadness, losses and tears.  It's not something that just happens; You cultivate it with care and love.  Perhaps, our dear Lord planned it from His heavenly home above.  A friend is worth the time you give, the caring that you show.  No matter the size the troubles, they know to you, they an always go.  But it's not a one-way street; You, too, can do the same.  You can each count on the other, in your joys, and your pain.  The power of this friendship rises higher year by year.  I am glad we shared this magic, because, to me, you will always be so dear.   

Rest in Peace my friend!  Thank you for always being there for me.  You will be greatly missed!!

• I am truly sorry for your loss.  Rita was a very loving and caring person in every respect.  She took care of my husband, Dick Briggs for many years.  Both Dick and I really appreciated all that she did for him which was way beyond what she did for others.  I enjoyed sitting with her and Jim at Dick's memorial last summer.  I loved her quick wit, her thoughtfulness , and her many kindnesses to me.  She was a blessing to Dick's entire family because we knew she would look after him when we couldn't.  She was like family to us and to me.  There is a special place in Heaven for someone like Rita.
