Rick was a very special person. He is missed.

Dear Rick,  I don’t know where you’ve gone but I hope you’re celebrating this day off roading in a spectacular place!  You are missed.

Your Friend,

Fred

If words could smooth a grieving soul, for the Theis family I would write thousands each whispering the same message, you all were greatly loved.   I am one also who has  memories of working with Rick, sharing a laugh,  and admiring the pictures of the family as you all changed.  I hope the memory of his love will help to bring you peace.  I remain in fond remembrance of being fortunate to have worked with him.

My sincere condolences to Rick's family and friends. I truly enjoyed working with Rick at Lewan for 23 years, he was my colleague and friend and left us way too soon. I loved his self-deprecating humor, the abundance of fun facts he loved to share (which always reminded me of my late father), but most of all I will never forget his kind spirit, compassion for others, and his deep love and devotion to his family.  What an amazing example of a life well lived.  My thoughts and prayers are with you, I hope you take comfort in all the wonderful memories you have of him and in knowing that he lives on through all of us by keeping those memories alive.

I’m not able to be at Rick’s memorial and I promise Rick, I’ll celebrate you every time I’m in nature taking in her immense beauty.  💜 I’ll be grateful that I knew you, enjoyed your dry humor, and worked with you.  You’re now eternal, so please go easy on us humans.  ✨

I was extremely saddened by the news of Rick’s passing 😢
I didn’t know he had health issues! Rick was a true gentleman. Always kind, calm and polite. No matter what was going on in his life, he was always positive. He loved his family immensely! He was a wonderful human and he will be missed 😢🌹
May he Rest In Peace🙏
My condolences to his beautiful family 🌹

Sorry that I’m so late, but Rick’s passing really hit me.  We talked some weeks ago, but I had it in my head that he was going to make it.  My close association with Rick, as with most of the Theis gang, was via Scouts.  A great family, and we shared special times.  As Rick’s scoutmaster, I knew him well. He was quality.  This is like losing one of my kids.  My heart goes out to the family.

Rick was a wonderful friend and colleague.  He was always a model of consistency, professionalism, and hard work; and he was a quiet inspiration to everyone he touched.
This is a great family photo of the Theis cousins. Rick is far right back row.  Early 1970s maybe.
I worked with Rick at Lewan for 14 years, but only truly got to know him on our company trips.  I also looked up to Rick as a mentor.  He was a level-headed, straight shooter.  He possessed traits that everyone wants in a lifelong friend.  Not a day has gone by since his passing that I haven't wished for more time "like the old days" with Rick.
I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Rick for many years at Lewan.  I always knew Rick to be a good soul. Very honest, funny, intelligent, humble, and caring. He was a joy to talk with and to be around.

Sad to see him go but I'm sure he's in great hands now and no longer in pain. Rick was always engaging and we talked a lot about our green chili recipes in the office trying to improve as amateur chefs. I also enjoyed chatting with Rick and Ellen at the Lewan President Club trips over the years. They were a fun couple. He was a great husband and father.  We will miss you Rick.

Rick and I climbed a lot of mountains together. He came on my climb trip to complete Snowmass and therefore all Colorado 14ers as it was my last one. He wore this tutu because everyone was supposed to bring a funny item. Will sure miss you Rick!
I sat next to Ricks office many years. We worked on lots of clients together. He was always appreciative. We also talked a lot about old cars a passion of his. As someone said, “ He was one of the good guys”
Sorry for your loss. Prayers for all of you.

Rick was a dear friend whom we loved very much - we will miss him deeply.  We loved Rick's deep thinking, our interesting conversations, his wry humor, his work ethic, and his devotion to his family and to his friends.  The world has lost a good, good man and we're comforted that he's looking over us all with his knowing grin, in peace.  We send our unending love and support to Ellen, Anna and Elizabeth.

There are no words to express our sadness for your loss. Please know that Ben and I care very much and are thinking of all the Theises.
So sorry, Rick was a terrific man with outstanding values and qualities. I always enjoyed our conversations as he was so insightful, and I came out with new perspectives as well as learning something. I appreciated his calm demeanor, strong work ethic and kindness. He truly loved his family and would always put their needs first. Remembering sales meetings and when Rick would provide input, it was always a great question or a comment which would lead to a deeper conversation. I had the upmost respect for Rick and he will be missed. Thoughts and prayers for Ellen, Elizabeth and Anna as he was so proud of his family.
