Rick's obituary
Rick Theis, aged 63, passed away on May 23rd surrounded by his loving family. Born in Minnesota, raised in Colorado from the age of ten, he didn't move far from home when he left college. Instead, he enjoyed climbing, camping and hiking the peaks, parks, and mountains of Colorado, traveling to wild places like Alaska and British Columbia, and especially loved exploring the Mayan culture and pyramids in Mexico. His second favorite state was Utah, traversing the many unique and wondrous canyons and mountains, studying rock formations, the stars, petroglyphs, ancient peoples and cultures, and exploring the quieter places in his FJ Toyota Cruiser with his less intrepid wife, (don't drive so close to that cliff!).
He loved his family beyond measure, the kids in the neighborhood called him "Mr. Rick," and always knew he could and would fix their bikes, kites, automobiles, and knew every fact about almost anything...his family called him “Mr. Google," and through his tenure of 25 years at Lewan, his coworkers dubbed him "The Professor."
He had a sharp wit, was intellectually curious, a reader, a creative "maker," reliable, kind, and an all round true friend, father, husband, son, sibling, and exceptional human. He will be incredibly missed and Forever loved.
