A love like no other.... In preparing for the Life Celebration I have had the task and the honor of pulling together images from all our family to share with you that day. After going through hours on end of images I have SO MANY emotions I cannot even share them all...but the one I do want to share today is without a shadow of a doubt my parents love and respect for one another was like NO OTHER! Thank you Dad for being the shinning example of how a man should love a Woman!

As far as I can remember I have always been going to the river and the lake with my Dad and family. He taught me to ski almost before I could walk. This picture is so classic! We are just missing the twins, but they were there just getting to arrive. Love my family!

Posting on behalf of My Mother, Michelle Simpson. One of my favorite memories of my wonderful husband: This is a picture with my Mom, Agnes. When she had come to help us during my pregnancy with Vanessa she found that she didn’t want to stay alone in Ohio anymore. She would move to California to be by us. Dick had no problem with that and embraced her coming with all the help she needed. Dick was always a jokester so goes my favorite: Dick had put a new battery in her car and not long after she called him that her battery was dead again. When he went over to jump it she said “I thought you said this was a lifetime battery?” He replied “ It is, I didn’t know you were going to live so long!!”
We are so sorry and deeply saddened by your loss! We are thinking of you and praying for you always!! May God help you and your family find peace and healing through this difficult time!!

We have shared many great memories... most importantly we share our son and he shared his daughter and together we shared our grand children.. Always a smile, always ready to lend a hand when needed. A strong man of faith who showed that love to family, friends and everyone he meet...I will miss you my friend... and the example you set for all of us.

I wrote this for my Father and was able to share it with him on April 23rd it was a precious memory I will have forever. The Tree, written by Michelle Noel (Simpson) Recently Tony and I went on a date and then after dinner, we went to downtown Rochester to walk on the paint creek trail along the river. It was a crisp night and we could just feel God’s goodness all around us. As we walked Tony spotted a tree, perfect for climbing, so we could get a better view of the sunset. He jumped right on, climbed up, and reached out his hand, and said please join me, my Bride. Reluctantly I followed and soon the fear subsided and all that was left was us, feet dangling and a beautiful sunset ahead of us while on this magnificent tree.... Later the next night I laid in bed thinking and praying about you, my Father, and the state of your health. At that moment God spoke with a sweet whisper in my ear. He said you remember the “Tree” you had climbed? You see the Tree although it appeared to have fallen it was still holding strong with its roots in the soil. It was as bent over and tired from growing in this tough position for years. But even bent over you can see where it was gracefully held up by trees surrounding it. It appeared to be hollow, however, its core still had strength as it had mightily held the weight of Tony and Me that night. You see my sweet Father, God told me you are that Tree. You are wise in years and grounded into the good soil of Our God. You are bent over and tired from all the years of fighting this cancer. However, like the tree, you are also “held up” by your Bride (aka my amazing Mother) and by all of your wonderful family and friends that love you. And although the weight of your battle constantly sits upon you, your core is forever strong, in Christ! “We are confident that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in the comfort God gives us.” 2 Corinthians 1:7

I was born 4 days after my dad's 40th birthday. For as long as I can remember my dad and I celebrated our birthdays together. This is my dad and I celebrating the day before he went to be with Jesus!

2003, Midland, MI, USA
My Father, My Parents have always been my biggest cheerleaders in life. When it came to college they trusted God and let me go on a journey 3000 miles away. I am so very grateful. I remember one night feeling alone and scared in this new town and I called my Dad begging to come home. He told me I had to try and that if after the first semester I wanted to come home he would be there with a truck. I felt secure knowing that and I tried... and I stayed and the rest of the story is the beautiful journey of my life.
