How saddened we are to hear this. We were always amazed at Richard’s great spirit and willingness to share stories. We will dearly miss seeing Richard in the neighborhood and at the Thumbnail. Our hearts go out to Donna and all the family. Rob and Val
The dentist chair was never a happy place for me until a friend recommended Richard. Not only did he give me great care, we enjoyed a lot of blues music and talked it(as much as possible) when I let my daughter know of his passing she referred to him as our rockstar dentist.
Have you heard the legend? Several parallel universes exist at the same time. Everyone who was born on the earth has some missions. When this person completed his/her specific tasks, he/she will enter the high-level universe without physical limitations, and the soul is eternal. We call this universe as heaven, paradise or a place of forever happiness.
In Chinese tradition, most people believe that for good people who will always live in this place, there is the happiest world. The best people who have done a lot of good things will go there without any pain or disease. They just came there naturally, without any reason.
When I heard that Richard had left us, I couldn't say a word. I reread the email he sent me last Monday and Wednesday (7/19 & 7/21). Richard wanted to show my children his discovery of piano playing skills. What a vivid scene, he was sitting in front of the piano, and the music came from his fingers, full of a lovely house.
Suddenly, I knew that he was such a kind, generous, and enthusiastic person. He did too many good deeds beyond his original mission, so he was promoted to the top level universe. It is so fast, as if the offer must be effective immediately. We cannot react so quickly to overcome our sadness and surprise. Richard just left this earth and wait for us in the better place.
Richard was the first person to invite me to his house and shared his life with me. He treats an immigrant family as his old friend. I deeply appreciated his kindness and generous mind. I know we still have a piano and music plan. I Just need to do more good things, treat others like him, share love and hope with those in need of help and friendship, just like Richard did for me.
I believe that all the people Richard loves will meet him in the future. He lives in our hearts. He plays the piano and enjoys every beauty in the high-level universe. He looks at us, especially his beloved Donna, his family members and friends.

Deeply sympathy with hope.

We are so sorry to hear this. Richard was a good friend who will be greatly missed. He so enjoyed his life and the many life experiences and people in it. Peace to his family. He loved each of you……..
Dear Donna, Family & Friends of Richard's....
Sincere condolences to each and every one of you on the loss of someone so dear. What a beautiful family, what a blessed life, and what sadness we all feel in his passing. I cherish the friendship we shared, and have wonderful memories of working together on fundraiser shows, the privilege of collaborating with Richard on many musical endeavors, hanging out in the beautiful home and gardens of their home, and admiring his handiwork in the landscaping at home and at the Thumb. He was always ready with a kind word or deed, tolerant, kind, and had a sense of humor. His hard work, dedication to his family and friends, talents, and humility are just some of the reasons to admire and respect him.
It was an honor to meet you and to play jazz together in your studio. I'm sure you'll continue to play music for ever.
