Playing in Begin Anyway band with Rich was wonderful! With Rich on bass and myself on drums, we had such a fun rhythm section. He was one of the best bandmates ever. The band only ended because a couple of us relocated to Austin. It was also fun to watch him play bass in 7 Mysteries. Rich truly loved his family and spoke of them often during band practice. He also enjoyed telling us about his latest woodworking projects. He was a gentle, intelligent, talented man with a great sense of humor.

I retired from Fike several years ago, but I can truly say that Rich was one of the best coworkers I’ve ever known. He was always genuinely kind and honest with me whenever our paths crossed. I am so very sorry for his family and will hold you up in my prayers. (I had no idea we went to the same high school).

I have considered the Huff's family since I was 15 and even though I'm on the other side of the world I still do to this day. They invited me into their house and made me feel like I was home. So it goes without saying the loss of Rich is like losing a brother. You are all in my thoughts at this time and I'm with you all in spirit. The love you guys have for each other will get you through this hard time and the times to come. ♥️🙏♥️

My condolences and heartfelt prayers to Rich's family. Rich was a wonderful and truly special person - there are so many fond memories and stories of Rich, from his hilarious and sarcastic jokes, to his truthful wit. It truly was wonderful spending time with Rich from the volleyball beach days to the classic D&D evenings. Rich had many, many talents - he became a very good musician, rocking with us all in the bands. His extremely technical and analytical mind helped so many times when we could not get an amp or light tree working! Just a few months ago, I found the 'Red Barn' gig video and was watching it - this was Rich's first live show ever, playing the bass guitar. What a great show that actually was - he played fantastically!
Some truly memorable memories with Rich - we laughed for hours over the 'bowling ball' incident (Phil remembers), and all bickered (politely) with each other over who was running what route during the 'team prozac' football games at Ohara. Summers with Rich down at the lake were incredible. Rich was a truly genuine person; he would tell you exactly how he felt, and how it 'really' was, and I appreciated that often. A kind, ethical, and moral person - Rich always helped you out when asked (and also helped out even if not asked). He would never be too busy to help out and give his time. He grew up in a great family, formed his own awesome family, and positively influenced and impacted everyone whom he met through the years. I am so very sorry for your loss. Rich truly was like a brother for so many years.

"Rich was such an awesome guy! In many ways Rich was a person that I emulated. He was kind hearted, solution focused, and a great guy that got things done. He was a joy to work with and spend time with. It's hard for me to process that he's gone and not going to crack another joke when he has the chance. Although he is gone I still think about all the positive things he brought to my life. I know he touched many others with his positive attitude and desire to make their lives better. I know his family will miss him dearly and so will his coworkers. His family will be in our prayers!
