"It’s been over a month since you left. People have stopped talking about you as much, and work is slowly getting back to normal. But don't worry, boss—I haven't forgotten you. I’m working hard to follow in your footsteps. I miss you a lot."

Dear Rick’s Family,
I was so saddened to hear of Rick’s passing. I had the privilege of working with him at Oxford, and he was always so helpful, kind, and endlessly supportive. His bright smile and thoughtful words lifted the spirits of everyone around him.
Please know that he will be deeply missed by all of us who had the honor of knowing him. My heartfelt condolences to your family during this difficult time.
With sympathy,

So sorry to hear about the passing of Rick my friend and neighbor for 30 years or more, he will truly be missed by me, will miss our little chats by the fence at times or just a wave out and back and especially the sound of that Harley at around 6:45 am routine I knew it was gonna be a good weather day , I didn’t have to look I knew he was home safe by the sound in the afternoon, I remember when he got a snake off my back porch, I couldn’t ask for a better neighbor just knowing he was there always made me feel safe here, RIP Rick you are missed already. Amy if you need me for anything let me know, prayers for you and the family.
Your neighbor, G W

Rick was an all around great guy and a pleasure to be around. Every overtime call we worked at Emory he was always right by our side even in the late hours of the evening. We will miss him!

Thank you Jacob and Colver Family for creating this memorial for Rick! I'm so sorry for your loss!
I first met Rick in June of 2020 during the pandemic when I became his supervisor. I was so green to Oxford College and the Emory way of doing things. Rick showed me the ropes and helped me get my sea legs. We spent a lot of time talking about work, life, and family. He taught me a lot! From the very beginning, two things were unmistakable—Rick’s passion for his work at Oxford and the profound love he had for his family.
Rick was very knowledgeable and knew Oxford like the back of his hand. He was the go-to guy and was always on the go! He had high expectations when it came to work related matters, and he was vocal when things weren't completed properly. Some people misunderstood Rick, but that's only because they didn't know about the crucible moments that shaped and transformed Rick into the man and leader he became! He shared some of those moments with me, and I was able to relate to his experiences. He also had difficulty working with people that didn't share his work ethic, but let's be honest, Rick's work ethic was second to none and hard to match. He was always solving problems and thinking of ways to make things better.
Even though Rick and I got to know each other fairly well, I wish we would have spent more time getting to know each other better. Life happens so fast. I thought we’d have more opportunities to sit down and talk or share a meal. Rick was such a humble man and never bragged on himself, but if you asked him about his kids he would light up and tell you all about them. He was so proud Jacob when he graduated college and overjoyed when he got married. He was also very proud of Taylor and was looking forward to her upcoming graduation.
Rick, I miss you dearly friend. I wish we had more time. Rest in peace and see you again one day!
