Richard's obituary

Richard Clarence Bryant 84, of Clearwater, FL, went to be with the Lord the morning of December 5, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

Richard was born in a small town in Pennsylvania to Clarence and June on July 10, 1939. He was the second oldest of five children.

His family moved to St. Petersburg where Richard graduated high school at St. Petersburg High School in 1957. He was an avid soccer player and helped to form the first soccer league in Tampa Bay. Soon after, he proudly became a Marine and was married to Vivian and together they had 3 daughters. As a young adult, he also worked hard as a pressman for the same company for over 35 years, had an amazing work ethic and retired at 67 and began traveling to what he proudly referred to as almost every body of water in the United States and boy, did he have some fish stories!  His church was also a very important part of his life where he drove the church bus for years picking up children that otherwise could not make it to hear God’s message.

Enthusiastic about life, Richard had a wide range of interests. He was a die-hard fan of boating, fishing and watching sports, especially Nascar. His passion for these activities brought joy to his life and to those who witnessed his passion and excitement. Richard was an overcomer, who faced life with a smile and positive attitude no matter what he faced. If someone told him it was impossible, he’d say, “They don’t know me”. His faith in Jesus Christ was another one of his inspiring traits and guided him especially in his last years.

Richard Clarence Bryant was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bill and sister Mary, and is survived by his brother Dean and sister Carol. He was a devoted father to Jennifer, Jeanette and Pamela along with his son-in-law, Gene and son-in-law, Jim.  He leaves behind his adored grandchildren, Stephanie, Breanna, Danielle and Kelsey and great grandchildren, Allexus, Michael, Sammie, Isabella, Meyah, and Marcus and far too many family members and friends to list.

Richard will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives he touched. He will NEVER be forgotten and we will miss those infamous one liners! If you knew Richard, then you knew his love and you are lucky.

Services and a celebration of life will be held at Liberty Baptist Church on December 17, 2023 at 11:45am.
