Ricky's obituary

On Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at the age of 61, Richard Reginald Beale passed away surrounded by loving family in his home in Canyon Lake, Texas. Rick was born on January 27, 1959, in Beaumont, Texas, to Luther Alton and Vera Elizabeth (Kinnear) Beale. He graduated from Forest Park High School in 1977 and attended Lamar University before earning his chemical engineering degree from the University of Texas in Austin. On June 25, 1988 he married the love of his life, Robin M. Grace. Together they raised two daughters, Elizabeth and Katherine, in Austin, Texas. Rick had a long career in chemical engineering before moving on to be a small business owner.
Rick was a loving husband, father, and friend. All who met him knew his kind, compassionate, and unwavering spirit. He made lifelong friends everywhere he went, especially while pursuing his hobbies, including whitewater kayaking and playing guitar and bass. He was an active and passionate member of his church and participated in numerous mission trips and served on many Walk to Emmaus and Kairos prison ministry teams.
Rick is survived by his loving wife Robin, daughters Elizabeth and Katherine, granddaughter Sloane, brothers Al and Ron, several cousins, nieces and nephews, and innumerable brothers and sisters in Christ.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, a memorial service for immediate family only will be held on December 30th. A larger celebration of Rick’s life will take place next year when it is safe to do so.
One of Rick’s favorite bible verses was John 21:17: “Do you love me? […] Feed my sheep.” Therefore, in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Rick’s name to one of the following charities, all of which were close to Rick’s heart:
