Rick was my boss at St Paul Insurance in the 80's.  He was fun to work with and for - kind,  smart, perceptive, great sense of humor, wide knowledge of the insurance industry, avid/curious consumer of news and books, Chicago pizza and sports fan.  Our conversations were wide ranging and very interesting.  We also shared an interest in and love of Star Trek.  When the first Star Trek movie came out, we played hooky and went to see it during work hours 😊

I lost track of Rick after he left St. Paul until close to 20 years ago when I found his Facebook page, contacted him, and we resumed our fun/interesting conversations there, with the last comment September 30 about fraudulent voter registrations.  I loved his well reasoned takes on just about any topic and our shared Christian faith.  He loved his family so much.  He also had a gift for friendship which I really enjoyed.  I feel very blessed to have known Rick and I sure miss him.  I have no doubt that  he has been enjoying friends, new and old, while checking out heavenly places and hearing Jesus say Well Done.

Dear Lynn,  I’m so very sorry to hear of Rick’s death. You and Rick raised a beautiful family and I’m sure you will all miss him terribly. May God comfort you and surround you with many friends and family as you grieve his loss. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Cathy (and Jim)

We are so shocked and saddened for you all; and while it’s been years since we’ve been to Chelan,  we still reminisce about  the many good times we had.  Rick always had a smile on his face and an open heart.  In fact, when Katherine heard of his passing, she shared that despite not being much of a soccer player, she so appreciated that Rick never made her feel less than anyone else and was always kind toward her.  Our hearts are breaking for you all.
