Raymond's obituary

Raymond Tyrell Murray passed away on January 10, 2019 after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Atlanta, Ga to Elijah & Esther Murray. He graduated from Food and Finance high school with honors. He then went to The Arts Institute and graduated with an Associates degree. Raymond loved making new dishes that granted him a position at Cozy’s restaurant, where worked for 20 years as head chef. He met his wife Sherry Washington in December 1983, they were married the following year in December. He loved making people laugh with his bad jokes and even worse dance moves. He loved hiking, playing sports even if he was bad at it, reading and singing off key. Raymond always had a smile on his face. You could not tell when something bothered him and he would be the first person trying to make someone else smile. He would be the first person willing to help you no matter the situation. Raymond and Sherry did not have any biological children, but had the pleasure of being foster parents to amazing children whom loved them. Raymond is survived by his nieces Elizabeth Anderson, Esther Anderson, Michelle Anderson, Carmen Murray and Vanessa Murray. Nephews Edward and Ramel Anderson, Elijah Murray and Corey Murray Jr.
