Background

Randy valiantly fought this disease for 20 months. It started with a backache, but at 66 years old when you shovel snow, who doesn't get a backache? When it only got worse instead of better, and after a visit to the doc and an MRI, it turned out to be a tumor on his spine and two compression fractures. We were at the Huntsman the next day, and our journey/battle began. The MMRF and American Cancer Society did so much to help reduce stress, provide disease and treatment education, and provide housing at Hope Lodge when we needed it. It was because of dedicated doctors, researchers, and generous people who donate time and money to further this cause that we were able to have the treatments and care that he deserved.
