Mon and I met in DLSU in 1974. My husband, Dennis was his classmate in LSGH. Mon and I were in Liacom 22 together and he was always the kindest and friendliest person. He joined the DLSU Chorale and I did, too. Our friendship was nurtured through many, many years. We were and are still shocked beyond belief that he is no longer with us. Prayers for Chuchi and the family. Remember this: if you grieve much, it means you loved much. Ingat po kayong lahat.Mon will be remembered always...missed, always. RIP, dear Mon.
I have known Mon for over 50 years. First met him in freshman year of high school at La Salle Green Hills. We were classmates and batch mates of HS Class of 1974. Even in our early teen years, Ramon already showed his leadership capabilities. He was class secretary for our class 104. He quickly made friends and won people over. He also was a competitive athlete and he loved winning. Appropriately justifying his last name "Manalo" fully. For the word "Manalo" in Filipino means "to win". And he did win big time in the game of life. Mon, was indeed a natural born leader. However, he did have a temper and was fondly nicknamed "Boy Tapang" which meant fearless guy in English. Most of the time, he showed his temper during his competitive years as a volleyball player and later on in golf. He loved his friends and school unconditionally. Mon, was a very loyal friend, husband and father. He always knew his priorities in life and was committed to live a Christian life. "Laging maasahan na kaibigan si Boy Tapang". The English translation is You can always depend on Boy Tapang as afriend. I am blessed to have known Mon from my puberty years to these years of my Social Security eligibility. Mon is definitely gone but will never be forgotten. His precious memories will forever stay in my heart and yours. Rest in Peace my hermano amigo Ramon. Till we meet again.

We can never know what tomorrow brings and we can only thank God each day we open our eyes to the morning! God gave us Mon to show us His love with the love Mon showered on those he loved and those whose lives he touched especially those who shared in his life through the years! But Jesus promised that we will share eternal life with Him so let’s strengthen our faith most of all so that this life is not all there is. Mon is now in the arms of our Savior. We share the loss and grief of Chuchi, Mon’s children and grandchildren and all his family and pray for God’s comfort to those who bear that grief and loss!

All my love,

Betty Gruenberg

Heartfelt condolences for your loss of a true gentleman.   May loving memories  bring you  peace, comfort and strength  today and always.
Wishing Mon’s family, Chuchi and children,  peace at this very difficult time.  Mon will always be remembered with fondness.  I have known him from half a century ago and his memory remains indelible.  May he rest in eternal peace.  And may God bless you all and give you strength to endure this difficult time of loss.

Kathryn and I regret we cannot attend services for Ramon.  We so much wanted to be there. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you! A handsome man, Ramon was a wonderful human being!  He was always gracious with everyone, kind to all who were around him and fun-loving and playful in that Manalo kind of way.  I remember playing Ping-Pong  with all three brothers at their house in Baguio.  The laughter and joy as we tried to outplay each other was infectious. He will be missed by many,  but those who were able spend quality time with him are fortunate and blessed to have been enriched by their relationship with him.

Again  will miss him!!

I love and like the personality of Mon Manalo, a true LaSallian gentleman. He was younger than us at age 66. So humble, very friendly and you can rely on him to be honest and sincere, sociable and kind. Animo!💚🙏🙏🙏💚.

He will be truly missed and we will include him in our daily prayers. The LaSallian Boys Club.
