Ramon's obituary
Ramon Catibayan Manalo passed to his rest on August 3, 2023 on the Island of Kauai at the age of 66. He was born on March 17, 1957 in Manila, Philippines to Ponciano and Milagros Manalo. Ramon was 1 of 4 siblings and had countless childhood memories with his siblings, Chito, Ida, and Atoy.
Ramon had a successful career as an entrepreneur, starting his own import/export company. He was a proud and active member of the De La Salle Alumni Association. He was a loving husband, selfless father, caring son, supportive brother, helpful uncle, doting grandfather and loyal friend. To those who knew him, he was known for his comforting presence, warm smile, gregarious personality, and caregiving qualities. He enjoyed cooking, playing golf, playing with his grandchildren, and spending quality time with those he loved.
What brought Ramon the most joy of all was his family. He is survived by his wife, Azucena Manalo with their 2 children Monica Olson (husband: Jeffrey Olson) and Miguel Manalo (wife: Nina Manalo). Ramon will especially be missed by those who call him Lolo (grandfather): Hayes Olson (3), Kaia Manalo (1.5), Georgia Olson (1), and soon to be grandson. He also leaves behind his parents Ponciano and Milagros Manalo, who he was extremely close with, as well as his 3 siblings Chito Manalo (wife: Grace Manalo), Ida Joseph (husband: Bobby Joseph), and Atoy Manalo (wife: Eileen Manalo), and their respective families. The absence of his kind soul leaves a saddening void, but his legacy will continue to guide us to what we know is true and Godly.
A memorial service is scheduled for August 26, 2023 at 9:30 am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Glendale followed by a Celebration of Life reception at 11:00am at the Holy Family Grade School Auditorium.
