Phyllis's obituary
Phyllis lived a life of service to her family and friends. She utilized her administrative talents to assist her long-time companion George Bourrell with his Heating and Air Conditioning business for many years. Phyllis had a huge heart for others and loved to be of assistance to people and her community. She served in many capacities including Room Mom, Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Den Mother, care-giver for her own mother, and general “helper” for countless others. The hardest part of her illness was her inability to help others the way she desired.
Phyllis was also a past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2529 Auxiliary and carried with her many memories from her time of service there, and she cherished the many friendship made during that time. She greatly enjoyed her view of the lake and the activity of the birds and squirrels outside her window. Phyllis was an avid gardener of flowers and vegetables for most of her life and enthusiastic collector of all types and sizes of elephants – her collection exceeded 300. Her greatest pleasures, though, were her kids and grandkids or “Grammy’s Angels” as she called them.
A memorial celebration will be held at the Eagles Club in Cedar Lake, IN on June 10, 2018 starting at 1:00pm. The Phyllis A Watson Memorial fund has been established for those wishing to contribute at Blackhawk Area Credit Union, 201 E Dixon St., Polo, IL 61064
