Phyllis's obituary
She was a small-town girl who loved her small-town life until she left for Cincinnati to attend The Good Samaritan School of Nursing. There she became a Registered Nurse and remained one until her retirement. She was a passionate, devoted and driven Nurse and those qualities led her to become the Head Nurse of the Cardiac Care unit at Morton Plant Hospital and then as Nurse Recruiter and finally as Nurse Supervisor for 35 years.
She was an avid reader especially historical romance novels, she loved crossword puzzles, board games but especially cards and she was wickedly great at everything she tried.
She had an enormous sense of humor and was quick to laugh, mostly at herself.
Phyllis loved good food, especially chocolate, socializing, and enjoyed going to movies and plays with family and friends.
She was quite the actress and could mimic any dialect with great accuracy.
She loved Downton Abbey and Tom Selleck equally but for different reasons.
She adored her brother and sister, and instantly came alive with enthusiasm whenever they were near.
She had a wonderful smile that could light up a room.
She enjoyed travel but was terrible with a camera.
She loved jewelry, and costumes, and music, and most of all would love seeing her children dance, sing and generally be free spirits whenever the moment would strike.
She had the patience of Job.
She was fiercely independent.
She hated housework, confrontation and making small talk with strangers.
She was an amazing Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, never making anyone wrong, never judging, but always quietly there, just in case.
She is pre-deceased by her parents and her sister Mary Knapke.
She is survived by her Brother Jim Cull, 6 children Gina, Frank, Randy, Tony & wife Jodi, Terri & fiancé Rob, and Lisa & husband Wally. 6 Grandchildren Paige, Joshua & wife Ashley, Skylar & husband Gabe, Melissa & partner Josh, Ian, Ryan & fiancé Savannah, and 3 Great Grandchildren Jax, Susannah, and Lincoln.
The Neptune Society will conduct a private memorial service for family members.
She will be forever in our hearts.
