It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Philip "Alan" Youngblood, who left us on May 25, 2023. Alan was born in Atlanta, GA on August 30, 1942 to Earlton Barbour Youngblood and Evelyn Elizabeth Jones who preceded him in death. Alan's spirit will live on through his loving family and the countless lives he touched during his time here.

Alan is survived by his loving wife Lori of 10 years and former wife LeAnn Carter.  His 9 children and 8 step children: David (Marilyn) Youngblood, Dean (Carolina) Youngblood, Dan Youngblood, Dixie Fortune, Dalen (Erika) Youngblood, Darcy (Garrick) Newell, Daren (Kaylene) Youngblood, Dallas Youngblood, Don Youngblood, Brooke (Martin) Thompson, Paul Anderson, Theron (Katie) Anderson, Greg Wing, Ethan (Leisha) Wing, Janessa Wing, Kert (Cherie) Jolley and Mitch Jolley. His siblings: Robert Lee Youngblood, Earlton Barbour Youngblood Jr. and Toni Youngblood.  He will be fondly remembered as a dedicated father and grandfather to his 41 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  He instilled a deep love of learning within all of them.  

Alan was preceded in death by his wife of 20 years, Linda Smith, his daughter-in-law Kaylene Youngblood, as well as his brothers, John Edward Youngblood and Lewis Dean Youngblood. He leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

Alan had a fulfilling career doing what he loved. He was an engineer at both the Atlanta and Provo LDS temples.  He was also Regional Coordinator for the John Birch Society. 

He had many natural talents and was very handy. He built his house in Spring City, UT. If he didn't know how to do something,  he would figure it out. He loved to gain knowledge any way he could. 

As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Alan contributed his time and talents to the spiritual community, serving a 2 year mission in England and serving in countless other callings including Bishop in Goshen, UT. His faith played an essential role in his life and influenced his strong sense of patriotism and commitment to defending truth and liberty.

Alan's witty, soft-spoken personality endeared him to everyone who crossed his path. Many will remember him for his good-natured humor and quiet wisdom that he so readily shared with those around him. His life-long love for learning and teaching others will forever be remembered as one of his strongest gifts.

In memory of Alan, we celebrate the countless lives he inspired and touched. His legacy will continue to live on through his children, who carry forward the lessons and principles he imparted to them.  We will miss him deeply. 

There will be a memorial in his honor Wednesday, May 31st, at 1:00 pm, 164 S. Main Street, Spring City Utah.
