Philip's obituary

Philip Henry Fogarty Sr., 76, of Phoenixville, PA, son of late William and Nancy(Reilly) Fogarty, passed away peacefully surrounded by his children on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. He had a generous, loving heart and loved to laugh and tell jokes to make others laugh. Philip was born in Louisville, Kentucky and raised in Philadelphia, PA. He was employed at West Chester University when he retired in 1994. Philip loved going down the shore, long walks, watching movies, and going to Wawa where he made new friends every day.
Philip is survived by his wife, Janet Scott and his children, Michele Effing (husband Rick) of Feasterville, PA, Janet Chambers (husband Michael) of Mt. Laurel, NJ, Lauren Fogarty of Harleysville, PA, Philip Fogarty Jr. of Phoenixville, PA, Katelyn Fogarty of Phoenixville, PA and Brian Fogarty of Phoenixville, PA. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jake, Samantha, Madison, Andrew, Alexander, Conner, Lilly, Roselyn, Diana, Ethan, Dylan, Natalie, Harleigh and Brylan; brothers William, John, Joseph, Eugene and Robert; sisters Ann Marie Leach and Mary Pat Smith. Also survived by his loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many cousins. He is preceded in death by sisters, Elizabeth Fogarty and Margaret Daehling.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Phil’s life on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Saint Ann's Catholic Church, 502 Main Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460. The funeral mass will begin at 11 a.m. A memorial luncheon will follow at 1:00 at the VFW, 200 Starr Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460.
